Can a Gen 2 (13b) block fit in my 93 rx7(13b)

My 93 Rx7 is starting to blow a lot of smoke and i've ruled out the turbos- so it time to have my seals replaced ( I'm wanting to have it rebuit with 3 MM apex seals ) But while its being built, will my older gen 2 motor{BLOCK} out of a my 87 rx7 NA , bolt up without any problems ... Thanks

there are other factors that make it nasty

compression ratios
mounting as mentioned
NA will have 5&6 ports (this pretty much mean its not do-able)
coolant passages on lim
some other stuff that's bs.

If your hard core you can tear out in a day and break/ clean/inspect it in another day. Rebuild the next and then install.

3-4 days of hard core rotary! MMMMmmmm sounds fun.

you might just want to order a reman if your not going to do it yourself. You can drive for a while on smoke clouds.

motor mounts for the FD engine are on the rear plate. motor mounts for the FC engine are on the intermediate plate. It will NOT bolt up

that's nothing compared to how he would have to deal with the 5&6th ports

Not to mention wiring that SOB, then changing the wiring again for the original motor.. It'd be better to spend the money on a cheap beater..

I think it would be close to the amount of work for a 20B, besides the steering rack issues, wouldnt suggest doing it

huh? Quick fix for that is simply to bolt up an N/A manifold. Changing the motor mount location is 1000 times harder than bolting up an N/A LIM

a 6 port motor will operate differently than a 4 port setup that TII's and FD have.

you could wire open the ports open but that would make drivability awful and the manifolds would need to be adapted again to eventually match up to the FD locations.

The FD has no way to actuate the ports.
