RX-7 mod question...(newb)
I'm about to get a 1994 RX-7 with 48k miles on it. I have about 3k to spend on engine modifications. I haven't spent much time looking through all the forums, unfortunately. So I was wondering if someone could tell me what they would buy with $3k. Also the car will be daily driven so reliability is very important.
Thanks,
Logan

intake $500
replace the whole exhaust $1000
PFC $1200 to keep it safe!
fuel pump $250-$400 to keep it safe!
that will give about 75-100HP more HP when tuned.
Search the forum. Also make sure that sound before you start.

downpipe, AST
full maintenance update - oil, coolant, thermostat, spark plugs, wires, fuel filter, tranny oil, rear diff oil, check/replace suspension pillowballs, brake pads, bleed brakes, new tires if needed, alignment.
maintenance is more important than mods for reliability. go to the advanced tech section and read the thread for reliability mods. actually read all of them.

Thanks a-lot I'll start reading up on all the reliability issues. If I get all those parts and keep it maintained will it still break down all the time? Also I don't floor it or race all the time just once in a while.

Certainly my experience with FDs has been quite breakdown-free.

My car has seen more street and track miles than the far majority of them here. They don't need anything as long as what is there is properly maintained. The only exceptions to that rule IMO are a downpipe and an AST.
