Running ROUGH (PFC)
I posted this on the PFC forum already, but no help...was hoping somebody over here had an idea...
Last Saturday night I went Non-seq and also installed the PowerFC. It ran ok at first, just revving up to hunt idle and things like that.
Now, it's rumbling and going nuts. Shakes and tries to go to like 3 vacuum then goes back to about 11, then rumbles then back to about 3-4 then repeats with the AC on. With AC off, it just rumbles rough at about 11 vacuum. It shakes terribly and is just running like crap, basically.
Checked and no hoses appear to be off, map sensor is connected.
Now I know there's a learning mode, but how long does that take and is this part of the learning step? I've been driving it around since Monday and it is not improving in the slightest.
Suggestions? Anyone in FL an expert PowerFC tuner?
(Anyone going to Rotorfest on Saturday an expert PowerFC tuner?)
Thanks

Don't clip them, just remove them from the harness...
But I do agree with vudoodoodoo, I'd check to be sure you've clipped (or better yet, just removed) the 4 wires.
My car did the same stuff until I remembered that I didn't have the wires removed. As soon as I removed them, it ran better within 15 minutes.

have you tuned the ecu yet? I had seriously problems like that but after driving it around alittle (slowly) it self tuned to the point where it would not stumble and stutter. Then I waited till I could get it tuned before running it much more. Remember that the PFC out of the box is leaner than the stock ecu

I've driven it around everyday since Monday, and it has been exactly the same since then. It doesn't do that rev-up whoo-whoo-whoo thing anymore that it did Sat and Sun where it hunts idle. It stopped that. But it just shakes and runs really rough at low rpms...and really doesn't feel good at all until high rpms (~5000).
I haven't had it expertly tuned, yet, no. I would like to, but I'm not sure exactly who can do it around here...

Check on the pfc forum for people with similar mods to your and try using their maps. I used Tim Benton's maps without any problem but I did drive it at under 3000 rpms and no boost

Did you only set the primary to 850cc or did you actually set the percentage to 68%? If you only change the primary to 850cc, it doesn't do anything. You have to change the % from 100 to 68%

Another note, I didn't know from your first post you were running 4x850. A fair number of people have trouble tuning those in...
That could be a part of the problem.

550 / 850 = 64.7% according to the manual.
Why do u say 68%?
How big a diff will a few % be? Could that be part of my problem?
Thanks for the responses guys.
