What I like about Rob's videos, and why I watch them, is that at the end of the day it's just a mechanically average guy teaching himself everything as he goes.
Going back and watching his earlier videos and what all he's doing now by himself is nothing short of incredible.

Again, what do you drive, do you do your own work? Or do you just like being a keyboard jockey?
Don't get me wrong, rob does some questionable things, especially from a safety perspective. But at the end of the day, he has learned a ton and shares a lot of info. If you dislike his channel so much, watch something else. Or better yet, try it yourself and let us know how that goes haha.

most interested in his yellow lumborghini gaylardo cant wait for rotary in that getting rebuilt every week by himself and many employees keen to find out also about pubic hair retention products which is the only parts that seem to work long term in his videos does anyone know what happened to able the rotary god?
Back to the subject at hand: If you pay attention to his videos, he does have other people doing some of the work. He pays people with more knowledge or skills he doesn't have to get things done.
However, if you've been watching for some time, he has slowly been adding to his own skill set and sharing what he's learned thru YouTube.
Since I've been following he's learned to TIG weld, tune, build engines, design parts in CAD, actually make things with a HAAS CNC machine, make things with a plasma/laser cutting table, etc.
Yes, he has ads, but how else do you think he could afford to do what he's done and continues to do? And typically his "click bait" does pan out at some point of the video.
Call me a Dahm sack rider if you will, but to me he's the realistic best possibly version of a car nut. Not some rich dude collecting cars.

Maxmillion, Again, don't watch it if you don't like it. Or actually, keep watching it so he can monetize your view and keep more content coming. And he doesn't have a gallardo.
You still haven't responded with anything about your car or your building skills. I'm guessing there is a reason for that haha.

For me, 95% of the time, I can't watch his videos. Seems like lots of insignificant content is added, for the sake of making YouTube videos. Have to applaud him for making $$$ out of a passion, and having fun; to me, that would be a dream come true. Hats of to him for making it real!

I enjoy the content, and yeah, there is a lot of goofing around and some questionable safety stuff, but overall I'm glad Rob is contributing to the rotary community.
I've learned a lot by watching his videos and I do enjoy some of the tangential content as well (e.g., using the CAD machine or learning to use a lift and trailer).
Personally, I would be uncomfortable doing some of the radical chassis cutting, performance pushing, reusing old parts in the spirit of experimentation, but Rob is good at explaining why and how he does things, and the builds are inspiring (e.g., billet 4-rotor, AWD design and construction) precisely because they are beyond the means of your average backyard mechanic.
My main concern with Rob's approach is that he often seems to be rushing to meet arbitrary deadlines (e.g., races, events, etc.). Sometimes it's fun to see something blow up because of a mistake or oversight, but a slower approach might lead to fewer (less entertaining) problems.
Just because you enjoy Rob Dahm's videos doesn't mean that you don't also enjoy other rotary builders' content and philosophies.

The turning point for me watching Dahm videos was when he made this video last summer. This has always been missing from the community. When you look at what other DIY car communities are doing people who contribute to public knowledge in an honest way with no expectation of $ in exchange for advice are what make it great. So folks like Dale, Ihor, and Dahm (and others!) in the 3rd gen community are the glue that holds us lesser knowledgeable folks together by creating the content that allows this website to exist and for us to DIY fumble our way through modifying and keeping these absolutely financially disastrous piles on the road. I acknowledge I couldn't be an enthusiast without a repository of knowledge as I don't do this to put food on the table.
Before this video I sympathized with his UPS dilemma but otherwise thought there wasn't much he could offer anyone that wasn't building a four rotor besides entertainment.

just calm down and take another toke on the tailpipe already …
been waiting for him to quit catering to the youboob fanboi shenanigans and get back to serious bizness dialing in the 3-rotor G42-1400 on the dyno already, but I suppose he maybe needed to take their money first to get on with that.
which I don’t know why anyone is screwing around with Ti for an exhaust; give me 20 Ga T321 any day over 1.5mm Ti; it’s a lot stronger above 600*F and only a tad bit heavier. Seen a lot of Ti exhausts break over the years.

Those exhausts you see break are probably due to welding. Steel exhausts break too.
How many TI exhausts have you seen break, what was the quality of manufacturing and who made them? I'll go out on a limb and bet your definition of "lots" it actually less than 5.
I don't get your issue with him making money on YouTube. Do you have a job? Do people get upset at you for making a living and funding your projects? Get over it and lose the envy. It's interesting content for entertainment purposes. Some people like that kind of stuff better than sitcoms or reality TV. What's your issue with it?
