removing injector diffusers

hi guys,
i pulled my motor for rebuild and i am thinking NOT to install injector difusers.
i hear that becomes britle and breaks over the time.
is that making sence?

does this affect the injector sealing?should i remove them or break only the legs and install the uper body only?

how many of you had them removed?

do you experience any problems?

thanks

Replacements come in the oem gasket kit. They are needed to be there for the seating if the injectors

They'll last longer than the engine, but yeah you should put new ones in. If it wasn't for the o-ring part of it needing replacement you could probably reuse ones from old engines.

Howard Coleman just lost an engine due to his diffusers deteriorating just a thought.

They definitely do NOT always last longer than the engine

I personally have torn down three engines over the years that were destroyed from the brittle old plastic breaking off and getting sucked into the intake port. Needless to say, we replace (if original--side feed injs) or delete (top feed injs) these little guys on every build.

can someone please describe how i install the secondaries and the primaries without difusers?

Is the head of the difuser with broken legs necesary?

the same apply to both primaries and secondaries?

Ok ok I stand corrected, but that's still pretty rare I would think

I have my engine torn to the short block and and they broke into several pieces after barely touching them w/ 20k on the build. Those lil suckers are expensive!

Why not just purchase new ones? They're not cheap, but will last you another 15 years or so.

LoL I'm not suggesting he re-use them, especially since the sealing part of them is going to be trashed anyway.

They're so easy to damage even brand new that its possible they were cracked while being installed, leading to them failing later on.

Three out of probably the hundreds of rebuilds you've done (or more) ain't bad. Aren't they made out of some kind of ceramic or something?
