Unhappy removing front tire?

This is a silly question. I have a 3rd gen rx-7. And I have a flat front right tire. I removed all the 5 lug nuts but I still can not remove the tire. Is there something else I must do to remove the tire. Help would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.

get a jack hammer and hit it a few times from the inside sidewall

I had this problem on the side of a busy highway at 10PM on a very cold february night (in MA, VERY cold)

Basically it's just stuck, just keep pulling/banging until it comes lose. Maybe spray something on the hub. If it doesn't help it'll at least make you feel better. It'll come off, keep at it.

oh this is when you use the "ninja kick" technique. Endorsed by mechanics everywhere

I have had success with loosening the lug nuts a couple turns away from touching the wheel and then going for a very slow drive. You will hear/feel the wheel break loose usually very quickly. Once this happens, retighten everything if you need to get back to the garage to get the wheel off. It should come off easily then.

Sit on the ground with your feet on the tire and your knees bent, lean back with your hands behind you on the ground .Now kick the sh%$###$@t out of it at the top or one edge, front or rear ( not both at once ) .D0 not kick the bottom ,if it falls it may hit you.

lower the jack a little so the wheel/tire touches the ground and detaches itself from the hub. Kicking it works too.

The safest way to do this is:

- put the car securely on jackstands
- remove all but 2 lugnuts, leave them a couple of turns loose
- spray PB blaster all around the seam between the rotor and wheel. wait 10min, repeat
- use a 2x4 and 5lb sledgehammer to whack the inside of the rim.

My gf's eclipse had all 4 wheels seized hard from corrosion. I busted them all loose this way without anything dangerous. When you put the wheels back on, lube the faces with lithium grease or anti-seize.

I couldn't remove my rear wheels for some reason last week too. I banged them with a rubber mallet and still no go.

I'm tellin' ya. You can hit the wheel with a hammer until you're blue in the face or you can loosen the lugnuts and go for a very gentle drive and have them off in seconds.

I prefer to face away from the car and give the top of the rim a backwards kick. I do this on an almost daily basis to Saturns at work. Certainly does the trick!
