removing ACV question

im taking out my airpump and ACV and was wondering what i do with the electrical lines running into it, the service manual says its the solenoid valve (port air bypass) inspection, solenoid valve (split air bypass) inspection, solenoid valve (Relief2) inspection. do i just unplug them from their connector to the wire harness i guess?
thanks,
craig
ps. if anyone has a turbo control solenoid valve (one on top of ACV) for sale please pm me.

You're talking about the 3 male, 2-prong connectors (2 black, 1 white), correct? I just left these unplugged and dangling under the UIM.

I believe one is a female connector.

If you have the stock ECU or a reprogrammed stock ECU, I'm not sure if the female plug will throw a code or not. What I did was used resistors on any open female plug and didn't do anything with the male plugs.

If you have the stock ECU the engine will idle a little rough from the air pump being removed. I don't recall if I threw a code or not but did notice the rough idle. Some folks didn't notice a difference however it may be a good idea on the stock ECU to install resistors. Now, if you have the Power FC everything should be fine. I know that some shops pull the pins in the box for the AVC and a few other emissions related devices so it won't matter when you pull the actual part off.

Good luck,

Steven

I am going through this right now. Mahjik gave me great advice, and to use 330 ohm 1/2 watt resistors from Radio Shack. Will put my car together next week with a stock ECU and having used all the block off plates. I hope it runs fine.
