Turn signal assembly problem..need help.

Here's the problem... I bought a used turn signal assembly in great condition. All parts were present except the metal bracket that holds lever in place. Not a problem. I used the one off my broken assembly. When taking apart a ball bearing fell out which I assumed when on the end of the lever itself. I did so and fitted together the lever and bracket into place, and then tightened the bracket w/ the two set screws. It felt to be working properly. When I plugged in the wiring harness everything worked properly but when clicking the low- high beam only high beam would stay on. Again it feels as if the assembly is working clicking back and forth low to high. Is there a preset position when putting together? I know this is a tough one hope somebody can help. Thanks Garret

Alright....I got up early before work because it was bothering me to figure it out. It seems I slightly overtightened the bracket. This was making the lever slip through the "dim" setting. Everything is ok now. Put the steering assembly back together. For anyone who has to fool w/ this. The ball bearing goes on the end of the lever(I used grease to make it stick to it.) Slide the lever into the assembly. Slide the bracket in (rear of the ball bearing). Press the bracket flush w/ your thumb . Line up the set screws and tighten. It is easier w/ the whole assembly off, but I adjusted it right on the steering column itself. Make sure to test before putting everything together.
You probably will never have to fool with it because the bracket should already be there if you need a new assembly. Anyway just a another thing back in order on the FD...
