Refurbished water pump from Mazda?

guys,
i am asking this becsuse i order one from a mazda dealer and i got a pump that was sandblasted everywhere even in the inside and even the gasket area and i was trying to understand why it was in such a bad shape. then i noticed that the packaze had the mazda logo and the word "refurbished" with big letters.
i do not want to install refurbished one and i am alredy searching for another one.

what is going on? do mazda sells refurbished parts or i am a victim of sellesman?

thanks!!

265.00 USD for a waterpump alone?

Just to let you know, I recently ordered a whole waterpump assembly from Ray @ Malloy Mazda for about the same price shipped.
This included a new waterpump, waterpump housing, thermostat, thermostat housing, cap, and gasket to engine.

-edit, only sensor included was Water Level Sensor

The MazMart unit is a CNC machined impeller designed to not cavitate at high engine RPM. This is a known issue with the stock water pump and appears during road course driving. So it's essentially a cooling system mod if you do track driving.

Just wait for RX7.com.. It's not really worth getting a part which if fails, can cost you an engine.
