Recomended NON-Synthetic oil

Ok just wanted to know the popular brands of Non-Synthetic oil for our 93 rx7s.

Another question.
I changed my engine oil 1k miles ago, I have topped it off once, it was down 3 nothes. I thought this was ok....I topped it off about 1.5 weeks ago

check it today after i washed the car and i am down to the low meter on the oil stick. I have no oil leaks wats so ever. This seems very strange, THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I HAVE USE NON-SYNTHETIC IN my car, im not sure if i like it....

Castrol GTX is not synthetic ?
I have usually taken my car to get oil changed at a shop.
When i look at purchasing the oil is there a label on it indicating that its "Non Synthetic"
What am i looking for when I buy "non synthetic"

I am up in Canada so i guess i should use 10w30 ? 20w-50 seems a bit thick for my area. and it is getting cold now..

It either says SYNTHETIC or nothing at all. It never says NON-SYNTHETIC. and the synthetic castrol is called SYNTEC. GTX is their non-synthetic line.

Either it will be around $3 a quart or $6 a quart. If its closer to 3 its not synthetic, closer to 6 its synthetic.

Oh yeah, Castrol GTX is as good as non-synthetics get without spending big bucks on some exotic racing oil

I've heard Castrol GTX is good. I haven't tried it yet though.

"non-synthetic" oils should say "Dino Juice" on them.

My guess would be if your losing oil is its getting burned you have oilers which drop oil onto the walls of the rotors to make sure they are lubricated but it shouldnt be burning that much unless you have some kind of internal oil leak which is making it burn faster than it should.

It's been thought that crude oil (from which petroleum base stocks are derived) is the partial result of long-decomposed dinosaurs.

It's too easy to find biased information posing as a resource on the internet. At your stage, you shouldn't worry about it. And if you feel that the excessive oil consumption is the result of your using synthetic motor oil, then you should switch to petroleum-based (dino) motor oil.

"If you are running pre-mix (pre-mix = small amount of 2-cycle oil mixed with fuel, accompanied by removing the metering system)"

Should i only run a pre mix if i have removed the metering system? I recently did add a pre mix of 2 stroke motorcycle oil to my gas tank when i filled up.. Might this be causing my rapid depletion of oil?

you shouldn't use synthetic oil in your FD, rotary engines are design to burn oil to lub the rotor/housing so compression can build, there is only 1 brand of synthetic that has been tested to work fine with FDs, I can't remember the name, I think Redline, but don't quote me on it, got to find it again. Why get synthetic, when you can use regular oil, it is just as good and cheaper

Yea my car seemed to be acting differently a few miles after my oil change of the synthetic oil. I am definatley going back to non-synthetic oil and never going to touch synthetic oil again.

Petroleum is a fossil fuel. It is called a fossil fuel because it was formed from the remains of tiny sea plants and animals that died millions of years ago. When the plants and animals died, they sank to the bottom of the oceans. Here, they were buried by thousands of feet of sand and silt. Over time, this organic mixture was subjected to enormous pressure, and heat as the layers increased. The mixture changed, breaking down into compounds made of hydrogen and carbon atoms--hydrocarbons. Finally, an oil-saturated rock-much like a wet household sponge was formed.

DINO is a wrong term more suited for children.
