would you consider this chuck?

having the vmic/hmic you have being a medium and making a vmic/hmic large. pretty much the same wayu asp has the med and large smic. i know with a large you will lose alot of things like a/c but t o some people a/c does not matter. here is a pic from your site that shows a larger hmic that i know i would be interested in (i know i've bugged you about this befor but this is what i am looking for and obviously this will with a single).

i really thought so myself, and since i am making this great big effort to clean up my engine bay i thought it would be a great idea to take up as much room as possile with the ic.

why would you need a bigger IC than that? given all of it's enhanced characteristics over SMIC I don't think it needs to be any bigger...will you be running 600wrhp+???

Re: would you consider this chuck?

Luigi:

I can make something like that. No problem but first I need to find a intercooler core that flows at that size. Larger intercooler does not mean it will flow more. It has a lot to do with the internal fin design.

Actually AC has nothing to do how large the intercooler is. As long as the AC dryer can stay at the same place, the intercooler part can be any size.

If you want a large one like that, I can have it made but I don't like it as much simply because it blocks the air going to the turbo. For the smaller one, the intake gets air directly from the mouth.

Just for your info. There is a company called Revolution Motorsports and they use the V mount setup on their T88 race car. Their v mount intercooler isn't that much bigger than the one I have right now and they road race only.

Email me if you want something custom like that done.

Please let me know if you can datalog some intake temp. Ambient v.s. intake temp at the manifold. If you have a probe to measure the temp before the intercooler, that will be even better. Thank you.

V-mount

As for RE-A product, it has been tested in a race field so long.
Radiator has been changed twice.
Intercoolers have been tested several times.
Intercooler core is the most important.
Now, RE-A don't use greddy nor HKS.
Piping has been tested.

There are couple of V-Mount kits in Japan.
But RE-A V-mount can generate more power than anything else.

In the race last week in Tsukuba Circuit,
Top 3 FD of the street fighter class have RE-A kits.

Of course I want to get it.
But expensive.

Do you mean if you need your car here or something like that? I think I can manage without your car being here because I have a friend who has the same turbo kit as yours. I only need to take some measurement and it will be done.

A custom one means your can choose the intercooler core you want to use such as APEX, HKS, or Spearco. If you have a front mount IC now, I can also modify it to become a V mount IC. I need to know your core choice and how big you want the intercooler to be. There are only certain sizes that will fit in there. I also need to know if you want to relocate the battery to the back or use a small one like my setup. Are you going to remove the AC so you can remove the AC dryer? The more stuff you take out of the engine compartment, the bigger the IC you can fit in there.

So basically you need to let me know what you need and then we can go from there.

Of course a custom one is not going to be as cheap as a production one. One off is always expensive. Unless you can find a few people who want the exact setup like yours, the price is not going to be too appealing.

if a bigger hmic is made i am sure there is a way of routing the intake for a single to make it work along with the ic. and the reason i was concerned with the a/c was because in most pics of the bigger ic you don't see the condenser/dryer anymore (?).
