re amemiya

Hey guys,
I was in San Francisco today and saw someone wear an Re Amemiya lanyard. I didn't get the chance to ask him where he bought it from though. I tried looking on ebay and Re amemiya's main site, but I couldn't find the one he had. I didn't see one on the forum either. Do you guys know where I could buy one? I Don't think it was this one http://www.re-amemiya.co.jp/commodit...d2a7&scd=10297
It might have been black.
I also have another question i was considering getting an Apexi intake, hks setup with mushroom filter, or an re amemiya intake( i cant find one yet though). Which one would you guys recommend for Daily driver and hp gain.

Don't buy any of those intakes, they all pull hot air from the engine bay. Keep your stock airbox, get a K&N drop in. If that's not enough, search for the "cheap bastard airbox mod" by member adamc

If you're dead set on buying something look into the Pettit air intakes.

They all perform the same. Just get the one you like the best.

I agree. M2 intake box is probably functionally the best one you can get. It takes very little room and does the job well. I may be selling one in the near future. I'll put it up in my FS thread if I do. If you are running stock IC, the stock airbox isn't to shabby at all.

I don't like the mushroom intakes myself. They do seem to suck in hot air. Mazda didn't like them either.

I have heard that Dragonmotorsports.net is a US authorized FEED and REA dealer. I do not have any experience with them and cannot speak for them in any way, just thought I would pass that bit of info along. The site seems new and does not seem fully up and going but he responds to email... I believe he is also on this board on occasion.

That being said, the M2 airbox is really a good setup. Personally that is what I think you should look into more. It pulls more cool air that the HKS and apexi.

I found the M2 intake to be restrictive when I had twins.

Oh okay. Thanks guys. I'll take a look at the M2 and look over the bastard mod. So intakes like re and apexi suck in hot air from the engine bay? Is there anyway to buy stuff on the re amemiya website? I don't see an add to cart or buy at all.

They do not use a 'buy now' cart system. English replies work by email enquiry to Inukai NOT the general staff email.
inukai@re-amemiya.co.jp
sakae_inukai@yahoo.co.jp

I hope his family and everyone else in Japan are doing alright.

Just in case you are interested in getting the RE-Amemiya intake, there is a NEW version released around end of Oct 2010. The old version is that purple/pink color intake filter, while the new version is in blue color. I post a thread about this before:

Yeah, for some reasons, RE-Amemiya website never update the intake photos there. But that's what Inukai told me, the new version is out since Oct 2010, not sure if you can still get the old version RE-A intake or not.

Oh okay. That's like 200-300 right? Is it like a whole intake setup or just the filter itself? Seems like a good deal if its everything. Would my stock fd need two? I see some engine bay pictures and some people have two filters.
