Idler Pulley Issues

I am having huge issues with my idler pulley since the day i got the car. The pulley is about 2mm out of alignment from the power steering pulley so it destroyed the back side of the belt. I tested the theory of putting a new bearing in and flipping the idler around so that lip is towards the front of the car so it doesnt rub. Now I am getting a viscous grinding sound. I have a feeling that since i have had the car that the assembly is not correct. it looks different then my friends. Does anyone have a pic of the spacer that goes behind the pulley? mine feels a bit smaller then the actually inside of the bearing so it wobbles a little. I cant for the life of me fix this damn thing since i have had the car. new belts and all.

Might want to post pictures of your's first. Someone may be able to spot a problem if you have pictures at the right angles
