I have a 94 base model, and the lights inside the stock, single-din, head unit don't light up at night. Seems to be the only related issue. When I searched, it seemed a fuse would have knocked out more than the lights. Is it just a fuse, or is there something awry with the head unit?
Does your cluster light up? While tinkering with my console panels I found that nothing lights up if you don't have your dimmer control thing plugged in.
I had an issue with my radio lights flashing / pulsing. I adjusted the brightness on the dimmer switch and that fixed my issue (I know the switch will probably need to be replaced eventually). It may be related to your dimmer switch.

I had a problem with the dimmer as well except the cluster lights also didn't work since the dimmer controls that as well.
So the lights on your console ( things like AC buttons ) all light up and your radio works but your radio doesn't light up? If that's the case maybe just pull the radio out and check to see if the lights itself are burnt.
I paid for the carbon fibre inner door lock covers from Jay Sheih www.EVO-R.net.....it's been a week, no response from Jay. Tried emailing and telephoned left a message. Still no response? Something's not right with his business.
If all the lights went out at once it probably isn't the bulbs. They would most likely go out one or two at a time. To check if the fault lies inside the radio or outside in the wiring look at pin 1F on the 12 pin connector:
