Corner lights come on when hitting brakes

Pulling into the garage, I noticed the corner lights come on when I hit the brakes by seeing their reflection on my refrigerator in my garage. I checked all of my lights and they are the correct bulbs in their correct locations. I don't know if I have a bad switch on my pedal or what. Has anyone else had the problem and if so what was your fix?

By "corner lights" do you mean side marker lights or what?
The marker lights are part of the running light circuit and should have no point of contact with the brake lights at all.
If your brake lights work, it ain't the switch.
If the brake lights work and also flash the marker lights, it still ain't the switch...you have a glitch in the harness or sockets.

I am assuming- for no good reason- that the front marker lights are not acting weird.

With all my lights off and my car not even running, if you hit the brakes all the marker lights come on even the flashers but they are solid

I was having a problem with my dash lights coming on when i hit the brakes. This was due to an incorrect bulb that was installed in the tail/brake lamp. Worth a shot.

Single filament vs dual filament i believe.

If its not the bulbs, then you have a short somewhere. I'd check the wiring at the tail lights as well as the harness at the from of the car responsible for the tail lights.

Heres some wiring diagrams.

Dont get offended, but for some reason, i dont believe you when you say you checked the bulbs.

Check all bulbs too.

Thanks for the diagram, I run through the wiring tonight, and I'll double the grounds some of them look sketchy to me.

Some important info is missing. Has this problem always occurred or did it just start occurring recently.

I bought the car from a guy and didnt notice this happening, to be completely honest. I just pulled into the garage one day and noticed the markers and turn signal lights on through a reflection when I was on the brakes. I've only had the car for 3 weeks and driven it maybe 3 times. I wouldnt try to BS you guys cause I want this problem fixed, and I wouldn't get anywhere if I was lying about my issues/experience with this car. so to answer your question honestly, I don't know if this was a pre existing problem when I got the car or not, my best guess would be yes this is a preexisting problem because, I have touched nothing elecrtical on the car. All I have done is fix a leaky brake caliper.

Do the lights which turn on by depressing the brake pedal work normally when the pedal is not depressed?

And if you remove the stop light fuse and press on the pedal do the lights in question still turn on?

Well I went through and checked all the exterior lights again, I felt like I was forgetting something. I must have gotten distracted and missed a set of brake lights. I found 2 of those autozone special led replacement lights. I swapped them out real quick and problem solved.

Oh I did, I just missed 2 lights, wife wanted me to run to the gas station to get drinks yesterday, I checked the inner brake lights and I spaced the outer brake lights when I got back. I wouldn't have asked if I thought I exhausted all the logical options, but my short term memory got the best of me making me look like a fool. I hate those LEDs, I had them in my truck and they let popping fuses, they're junk.

Man my short term is really bad, there's times after I go to the bathroom I forget if I flushed or not when I walk out of the bathroom, so I just pee in the shower now, it's a bigger target and it goes down the drain. No different than the green waterless urinals.

I've heard if you pee on your feet, it protects them from infection.

Perform a amperage drain test. You can start by disconnecting the alternator from the equation by unplugging it and see if that's the culprit (the alternator itself could be the problem or the way it's wired). If that isn't the source then unplug the BTU fuse in the engine bay. If that's not it then unplug one of the other engine bay fuses until you narrow down which fuse/circuit is causing the drain and go from there.
