R1 Single Din Cubby mechanism malfunctioning?

I bought this off a guy off Facebook for 90$ and I messaged him asking about it and he suggested I contact JP3 motorsports because 'that's how he received it'. Does anyone else have a genuine R1 Cubby that can share whether or not this is functioning properly and whether I have whatever I need to fit this properly? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Edit- Looks like I'm missing the brackets and rear peg.

Nope it's goofed up. When you push in the top it should smoothly open all the way.

Whatever the mechanism is that does the smooth open is messed up.

Thanks, I'm going to try to see if he will accept a return.
Being respectful and nice and hopefully he will accept a return. I sent my payment as a 'friend' too on PayPal because you'd expect most people would be upfront with what they have, especially for something small like this.
