You don't need it.

so when does a person need to port their wastegate?

some say when your starting to have boost spikes...
but others say that you should port it so as not to get boost creep... damn i always get mixed up between these two... hihi...

well I don't know about the gutted cat, but if you are not having problems with creep, then your wastgate is doing it's job just fine. With full exhaust it's hard to keep the creep down, so people port the wg allowing for more boost to get vented. Hope that helps.

you don't need to, but while you have everything out, I would recommend doing it. it won't hurt anything and this way if you ever decide to open up the exhaust some more, you won't have to pull the turbos to port it.

that is what i was thinking also... and since there are no ill-effects then i might just go do it...

As stated, you are fine right now. I believe the stock piping is 2.5 inches, so with the gutted cat, that should provide enough backpressure to keep boost under control.

However, if you ever decided to switch out the gutten cat for a 3 inch midpipe, you'll be wishing you ported the wastegate while you had everything out.

If a midpipe *might* be in your future plans, go ahead and port it now.
