Question: What does these connect to?

Hi Everyone:

I removed the vaccum chamber (next to the UIM) in search of trying to figure out my low vaccum/boost leak issue and I noticed that there was a loose connector and a pipe w/o any vaccum hose connected to it. I looked at the vaccum diagram to see about the pipe and I think that its suppose to have nothing on it, but I just wanna be sure. Can someone tell me what where these things are suppose to be connect to? See attached pic.

1) goes to the coolant hose right there in the middle of the picture, unless someone has bypassed the throttle body coolant lines. (If there is no hose coming from below the throttle body, or going from the backside, it has been bypassed and #1 should be like it is).

2) EGR connector - 93 non-Calis and 95s do not have an EGR, so that connector goes nowhere.

Hi Dave:

I have a question, for item 1 in the picture, if it's bypassed what would be the adverse affects of doing this? Is there a purpose of doing this? Sorry for all the questions?

If you are having a vacuum problem, it may be due to this kinked hose.

Wow! I didn't even noticed that. Thanks for pointing that out. I'll redo that one and see if my vaccum gets better. Thanks nicad2!
