Question for those with S2000 push button start...
Just curious what the behavior is in your car...
If you didn't leave the ability to start the car with the key also, then you'll only be able to help with test #2. If you don't have the push button start at all, you can help me by telling me what your car does when you perform test #1.
Test #1 - Without pushing the clutch pedal to the floor, when you turn your key to start, do BOTH your ABS *AND* BRAKE warning indicators light up?
Does the BRAKE warning indicator stay lit as long as you have the key turned to START?
When you allow the key to return to the RUN/ON position (not ACC), does the ABS warning indicator eventually turn off?
Test #2 - Without pushing the clutch pedal to the floor, when you push your S2000 start button does *ONLY* the BRAKE warning indicator light up?
Does it stay lit as long as you have the push button depressed?
...
The reason I ask is that I just (finally) bothered to finish my conversion to push button start, and I left the key active for when I get bored with the novelty of pushing a button to start the car.
When I turn my key I get ABS and BRAKE lights. The BRAKE light stays lit until the key is released, I believe, and the ABS turns off a few moments after the key returns to ON.
When I push my S2000 button, I get the BRAKE light only, which turns off immediately after I release the button.
I tapped into the instrument panel ground (black/light blue) for the Bosch relay and for ground for the S2000 button. I tapped into the instrument panel switched power (black/yellow, I believe) which is only live when the key is in the RUN/ON position. The button works fine, and although I don't have a starter in the car, I hooked up a piezo buzzer to the starter solenoid lead under the hood to test and both key and button work fine.
The embarassing thing is, I haven't started my car in so long that I have no idea what it used to do before, or whether or not this is normal behavior.
I assume that the ABS warning indicator illuminating is a function of the key switch itself, and when it is bypassed by using the push button, that something is not happening. However, if this were a problem, I would assume that someone would have posted by now, since there have been quite a few people with (ahem) running cars who have done this mod.
Any help you can contribute is appreciated, thanks!

i do not have my car in front of me right now, but from listening to the stereo before, i am PRETTY SURE that it is typical for the abs light to illuminate, and then it cuts off after a 'seven' second period. the brake light will stay lit until you return the key to the off position.....the abs light is on a timer and should be checked if it is illuminated for too long or short of a time....

...and i hope that this helps.....
p.s. your car is going to be a monster.....

thats not paint....
I was under the impression that when I did the mod I couldn't use the key anymore. You still have the ability to start the car with the key? thats really cool, how was the setup different? I will check which lights come on when I start my car up next.

After thinking about it, I knew that some day I'd be in a hurry or the novelty of the button would have worn off (it's a show-off thing anyway, really) and I'd just want to crank the key like normal, so I left that option intact.
It definitely looks right at home, and illuminates when the key is turned to RUN. I used a floppy drive power connector like someone else did (Max?) and it worked great. I figure 50 horsepower, easy, for this mod alone.
