Progress: Tranny Swap
I have made a great deal of progress with my trans swap... I hope to be done Sunday with only some intake stuff to worry about after that.
Pics:
BTW, only one bolt did not line up, contrary to the multiple bolts mentioned in AT/MT posts previously.. this is the bolt hole that the starter shares with the tranny to mount up. There is plenty of support from the other five as well as from the PPF that any future swappers shouldnt worry about it.

Wiring-wise I havent changed a damn thing... I replaced the speed-sensor gear and used the manual sensor as the wires are longer and will reach the chassis harness. The reverse lights and clutch interlock I havent messed with yet and I dont plan to concern myself with the nuetral or 1-2 switches as they dont seem to effect anything and the AWS is now disabled as of today.
EDIT: For the clutch-interlock, couldnt I just extend the wiring from the 'shift lock' from the auto shifter in the console and connect the wiring to the clutch switch on the pedal? That is what I'm thinking... either that or just short the 'shift lock' pins in the harness until I can do a full harness conversion using manual harnesses.

The clutch pedal has two switches on it. The 'clutch sensor' and the 'starter interlock'... the starter interlock is the primary concern that I will want to extend the automatic's shift interlock switch to. The other switch however I am unsure of to what its purpose is.
EDIT: There is actually two clutch pedal switches. One is for the cruise control that allows the cruise to shut off when the pedal is pressed in. It is located and engaged at the normal clutch pedal position of up. The other is a starter interlock. It just prevents the starter from engaging if the clutch is not pressed in. It can be bypassed if you don't mind that. It actually comes in handy when starting the car from the outside. You can just reach into the window and start it. It can also be custom wired to a kill switch instead to aid in preventing theift.
The above information came from Tim McCreary, thanks a ton for that one as I previously forgot it.
The 1-2 switch is from what I gather used only for emissions such as disabling the AWS upon startup as you can put the car in 1st or 2nd gear and the AWS wont activate. Nuetral switch after some thought I think is for 'load' on the engine to raise the idle with the BAC... since I have removed the BAC, if my assumptions are correct I dont think I need to worry about it either. EDIT: Again adding more crap to my post... the manuals have a more elaborate starting setup from the auto. The auto uses a nuetral safety switch (I mentioned this as a shift-interlock previously) to keep the car from starting in anything except P or N. A manual however can start by either pressing the clutch in or putting the shifter into nuetral. This works because the 'starter interlock' on the pedal and the 'nuetral switch' on the tranny serve the same purpose. This is the other function to the nuetral switch.
Given these assumptions, other than the starter interlock no other wiring changes should be needed.

Call me gramps!
Kris, good work. I still recall when you first posted on the [H] about how you got an auto FD. I quickly replied that you needed a 5spd; I'm glad you've got a 5spd now.

dgeesaman, I did not... I considered buying it but I'm not sure if mine has been converted or not. :/ I think it is only like a 12$ part right?
Unfortunately I think Malloy is closed today so I couldnt get any of my stuff in the system to be ordered. Another few days without my baby.

I am also a current Auto to Manual conveter - all I need is the clutch pedal and I'm ready to go. I have made my wiring plans on paper for each switch. I distributed these to several forum members for comment but have not heard back on them yet, I believe they will work just fine though. I am using a portion of the Auto tranny harness to achieve the wiring circuits. Running wires from the clutch switches also. I'll be keeping pictures, notes and updates on my progress along the whole way. I have my own garage and do ALL of my modification work myself, so this may be helpful to other do-it-yourselvers.
I am interested in the bolt pattern/linup as explained above. Please elaborate more on exactly what bolthole did not line up and IF it can be drilled to be useful.

Another question I have not had answered yet...does the auto center counsole have the little screw bosses for the trim ring of the manual shifter? I believe it does, but cannot remember to be sure. I have not pulled it and looked yet. But I have the trim ring and a custom boot along with the B/M shifter/ nismo **** ready to go.
