Profec b install strange boost

Hey guys,

I have done a search and none seem to match my problem.

I connected the profec b on stock twins today and my primary boost is no higher than 7-8lbs on the low at it's highest setting and then with the high on the lowest the transition starts to shoot in the 15+lbs. of course I let off before I could see how high it wanted to go. Has anyone had this problem? if so what did you do to fix it.

does anyone have pics of their install?

Thanks

Did you set the dip-switches on the back of the unit as specified for the wastegate type? Leave the power off on the unit and turn those low/high high boost ***** down to the left before you pop the motor. You have to stair-step the psi settings. And you did pull the pill off the wastegate hose, I presume?

HERE.
Watch the 3 psi high-boost default!!

Do you know what the settings should be on the stock wastegate? Also what do you mean by stairstep the boost.

Thanks

Pasted from site:

Now its time to set your Profec. I suggest you find a safe area for testing and have a passenger ride with you for a second set of eyes. First off if all of the connections are correct your boost controller will allow you to build about 7 lbs of boost with the unit in the off position. VERIFY THIS BEFORE YOU MOVE ON. Now lets turn the unit on and set it for low boost. Turn the low-boost **** to the lowest setting and also turn the balance **** to far left. Not "Sharp". Now watch the boost guage and make a couple of runs to monitor the boost level. You will need to turn the low Boost setting up till about the boost level you want to recieve for low-boost mode. I keep mine at 7psi valet/rain-mode.

Then its time to set the High Boost. Remember that the high boost will automatically start with 2 to 3 lbs more boost!! This is by design of the unit. Now make a couple of 3rd gear boost runs and set this to the desired level, starting at 0 position on the high-boost ****. You need to step it up to what your ECU can handle.

Now you can mess with the sharpness or "neck-snap" **** as I call it.

If you pop the motor by being aggressive with the ***** hey, I'm backing off. You'll be ok and sounds like you have a strong motor anyhoo after that spike.
More info Here.

I'm having the same problem, not seeing pass 7psi, and even manually closing the wg shut. Plus I'm running single turbo. Driving me crazy.

The instructions suck but it is very simple actually. I had the same problem you are have.

1. Set the dip switches as originally configured. 1-on, 2-off, 3-on, 4-off.

2. There are 2 actuators one positioned slightly higher (the shorter hose) than the other let's call this the primary. This is the only one you fool with, inserting the profec box between the turbo and that actuator. Important! there is another line on the backside of that actuator that needs to be removed and the actuator nipple capped. The hose that you took off goes back to the ecu and can just be left dangling.

The prespool actuator (the lower actuator) is left alone with the pill in the line as stock.

You will know if it's hooked up correctly, with the power off it will not go above 7psi.
