Power Fc Help!

Okay so I just installed a new motor 13B-REW with street port. I have a 95 FD. mods are: CIA exhaust midpipe downpipe RFL bov and power FC and boost gauge. I blew my old motor one because it was old and two i think the power fc wasnt tuned right and caused me to run too lean causing detonation...hence a blown apex seal. Now my question is does anyone know how to either reset the power fc to a stock setting or recommend how to tune it.....I dont wanna take it and get it tuned until the motor is broken in.

Any help is appreciated!

under the etc menu, it has one to initialize data...which takes it back to it's default map settings. In the pfc section, there are maps posted, pick one that has similar mods as your car and load it, PM the person whose map it is and ask them questions concerning it.

Since you're just breaking in the engine, you won't be using any boost... right? If you have the factory fuel injectors, you should be OK on the base map until you can have it properly tuned. If you have the Datalogit / FCEdit, you can just load the base map (default.dat) to the car and it should work out ok.

If you do not have the Datalogit or FC Edit, you will be stuck trying to reprogram things with the Commander unit as the above poster said.

Find someone with a Datalogit ... it will make your life a billion times easier for tuning it.

How can you have been running a PFC and not know how to reset it? Download a manual and read it....you can even download the manual from the Apexi website.

Anyway, the base map will be fine for break-in. I would strongly suggest getting the car tuned by someone who knows what they are doing....tuning it yourself requires quite a bit of knowledge of FI/rotaries, a wideband O2 sensor, and the FC Datalogit.

If you want to see what's involved with self-tuning, read Chuck's and Brian's write-ups:
