"All 1993+ RX-7s have what is called an "Accelerated Warmup System" that revs the car up to ~3000 RPM when it is cold-started. Its purpose is to heat up the 02 sensor and first catalytic converter to operating temperature as soon as possible."

Nice avatar focker...

Okay, the intake elbow that connects to the throttle body has 4 nuts on it. All of them are 10mm. The Throttle body that connects to the UIM(Upper Intake Manifold) has 4 nuts on it. All of them are 12mm. The UIM that connects to the LIM(Lower Intake Manifold) is held in place by 4 nuts and 1 long bolt. All of them are 12mm.

I know this because I took that whole section off about 10 times in the last month.

The AWS can be disabled by blipping the throttle or starting the car in gear. That or you could just take it out

You can do an engine swap if you have these socket size and open/box end wrenches.

8mm/10mm/12mm/13mm/14mm/15mm/17mm/19mm/21mm/23mm

...those are the ones I remember using anyways.

You can run the turbos sequentially or non-sequentially. Sequential is stock where the primary spools up first giving you almost instant boost which allows the secondary turbo time to spool up and assist the primary. Non-seq. is when neither turbo comes on alone however both spool up at the same time and come online at the same time. There are advantages to both and to find out more....SEARCH!!

There is one relay that controls the lights flipping up AND on. It is located at the front of the engine bay, near the passenger side(or the driver's side for A-Spec FD's)headlight. It's the only one in it's direct vicinity. If this goes out, then your interior lights will turn on, but your flip up lights/headlights will NOT turn on.

Stock cooling fans have a low and a high setting. Stock fans come on at 100 degrees celsius in low, and 105 in high. When you turn on your A/C from fan settings 1 or 2, the fans will turn on at low if they are not on already, or they will kick in on high if they are at the low setting. They will only do this if the water temp is 95 or above. If the A/C is on fan setting 3 or 4, then the cooling fans automatically go to high setting until they reach 95 celsius, where they will go back to low.

Changing a fuel filter is not as hard as everyone makes it out to be. Takes patience, 30 minutes, 10mm socket, 3" extension, wrench, needle nose pliers, and a towel for fuel spilling.
Just take off the guard plate on the passenger side at the rear tires
Reach up with the needle nose pliers and move the clamp back
Pull the hose off and use the towel to stop the gas from spilling out all over you
Then pull the hose off the drivers side with the clamp still attached
Use the towel again to catch any spilling fuel
Reach up from behind the frame and use the 10mm socket to undo the 2 bolts
Pull the filter down with the bracket on it
Take off the bracket and put it on the new filter
Attach all the hoses
Rebolt it back on
Grab a beer

If you don't know how to do extensive mechanical work on cars, you will after a year of buying one. That is not necessarily a bad thing, I enjoy getting out there and fixing/upgrading things sometimes.

Blackscorpio is in love with the map sensor, he posts about it at least once a day.. Why is my engine overboosting? Check your map sensor. Why are my brakes soft? Check your map sensor. Why did that Supra just pull on me like a Honda? Check your map sensor. Seriously, we all get it.. the map sensor can cause problems that only LOOK severe. I wonder how many hits I can get with the search button with blackscorpio posting about the map sensor.

The stock FD intercooler has plastic end tanks. Over time and under high boost, the "fingers" that come from the intercooler to hold the end tanks in place will uncurl and/or completely break off. This will cause you to have a REALLY bad boost leak.

The stock radiator also has plastic end tanks. Over time and prolonged exposure to the high underhood temperatures of the FD, the plastic end tanks tend to crack and break. This will cause you to have a REALLY bad coolant leak.

The FD has 4 fuel injectors. All of them are side feed. All of them have a 13 ohm impedance. Primary injectors are 550cc X 2. Secondary injectors are 850cc X2.
