Pettit cc3 fan/ ICE install

Have had the fan (Intercooler enhance kit) for my Pettit cool charge 3 sitting in my garage for months, went to install it recently and realized the instruction sheet was missing. Called Cam at Pettit and it sounds like the instruction sheet file has been lost on their computer or something. Anyone have that sheet or can give me a rough rundown on install? All he told me on the phone was to zip tie the fan through the rad core which doesn't sound very secure, and splice into the low fan speed wire at one of the fan relays which he thought might be red/yellow or yellow/red.

This is what you should use to secure the fan to the intercooler.

I've not done the wiring yet as mine is also sitting in the garage at the moment too. Very excited to get mine in the car.

If it were my car I would weld up some brackets to mount the fan to the intercooler but for cost and simplicity the above zip ties are fine. I would run a dedicated relay to the fan to either come on with the radiator fans or to a switch so you can turn it on as you like.

I agree with running a dedicated relay and switch. Are there any decent switches that fit in the switch area in the center console and look factory?

I wouldn't want a manual switch, would you enjoy manually turning on your radiator and each time?

Just tap into one of the fan wires to activate a really that provides fused power from the battery. When your radiator fans come on, so will your IC fan.

Or wire it so that it turns on with ignition.

I've used an oem fog light switch to turn on intercooler fans. Whatever you do, DO NOT convert the radiator fans to run off a manual switch. Sorry if that wasn't clear.

Any data on how much of a difference this kind of fan setup makes? I can't seem to find a consensus on it looking through older threads.

I'm with you. I do not want or need a manual switch. I want the intercooler fan to come on anytime the rad fans are on period. I also agree that a relay is the right way to go rather than a bullshit scotchlock tap like pettit supplied with the kit. Anyone know for sure what wire is the low speed out the fan relays or at the fan motors?

I'd actually leave it off unless you are having problems without it

I have used the cruise switch to trigger a relay to turn on the Pettit SMIC fan. It automatically resets when the ignition is turned off, has a green light to let you know it is on and does not have any effect on the CC

I have used the blank switch location in my center console for my IC fan for over 10 years. Simply buy a new or used fog light switch and place it into the blank center location. Wire in a automotive relay from the ignition positive to send ground to the fan with ignition on, positive to the fan from the battery.
