re: Pettit ICE

Hi

I have a Pettit cool charge 3 smic and want to know if anyone has either installed their new ICE kit (i.e rad fan) on one or has installed their own rad fan to their smic.

If so was there a noticable difference? do you have the fan wired so that it's constantly active when ignition is on or have you got it switched?

Cheers

I'm assuming this is an FD

I have not read of too many people with the ICE setup. It seems pretty new. It sounds like it would make a subtle difference particularly helping against heat soak in slower moving scenarios like traffic and such.

If it were me, I'd wire up the fan to engage with the coolant fans. No need to for it to be active when ignition on. I'm sure it would kill the fan quicker that way. It will most likely make a bigger difference when the car is moving slower than when you are on the highway.

yes was thinking on the lines of stop-start traffic to help combat heatsoak.

might look at switching it via some air-temp probe rather than switching with coolant fans....have to think about this some more
