there are a couple of times that I get the thumbs up and stuff, but mostly I get either ignored or mean mugged. Lots of guys with mustangs and vettes around here and they hate it when I put it down on them.

One sunny day I let my girlfriend take my 7. She picked up her friend and went to the mall to go shopping. Both later told me it was an experience they would not like to repeat. I was surprised to hear them say that and asked them why?
Apparently, they got mobbed by men yelling woo hoo, and giving them the thumbs up and following them. She was so nervous that someone was going to hit her. The funniest part is one dude even showed the girls his weiner!

From: Negative Ghost Rider, the pattern is full.
The cars are extremely rare around here (I think I've seen maybe one other on the road since I bought mine last April), so I usually notice a lot of people looking. The people that are the most interested are usually the ones driving around in the fart-canned/cut-springs Civics. The Corvette and Porsche guys like to pretend that I don't exist when I pull up next to them at a light but I usually catch them sneaking glances anyway.

I get the thumbs up all the time, alot of "chasers" on the highway, also alot of "what kind of car is that?" I have the only FD in the area so im a bit of a local celeb, hahaha. I also recently had a card stuck in my window asking if I ever wanted to sell my car, to call. It crossed my mind for just a second, but I could never get rid of my baby.

When i first got my Rx-7 back when I was still in highschool, I remember random girls would ask me for a ride home. Even with my girflriend at the time in the car.... That always got me in touble... so to make a long story short... she's not my girlfriend anymore

The Best Way To Get Questions

I'm in Savannah GA and I think I have the ONLY RX-7 around some times. I use mine as a daily driver sort of because it shares time with the STANG and the YAMAHA FZR 1000, and it seems like no one around here has ever seen one up close. Every time I come out from a store there is some one looking at it, waiting on me to come out, so they can start asking me questions. THE BIG REASON FOR SO MANY QUESTIONS IS I DON'T HAVE THE RX-7 EMBLEM ON THE BACK, so all you know is that it's a MAZDA and there aren't any other signs on the car anywhere to tell you it's a RX-7, so if you want a lot of stops just take the RX-7 off the car and I promise you that people will stare trying to figure it out. Oh, and when I first moved into the neighborhood right after the “Fast and the Furious” the kids would always point and say “that’s the Fast and Furious car.” If you want to be noticed THIS IS THE CAR, even the new ones don't get this much attention. If you think about it all the new ones are a dime a dozen, anyone with some money can have a RX-8, 350z, or the s2000, but it take a certain sort of person to fall in love with the one and only 7.

I always have people giving me compliments on my cars. The night that the FD died I had a cop ask why my new car was dead. I told him that it was a 93. Then he said that was the best looking RX7 that he had seen in a long time. I love it when I get compliments on my car. The best one that I have had was I was sitting at a light at a guy yelled out the window of his car when turning a corner "I LOVE FD'S". That was the best. As for people touching my car. That is a big "NO" in my book.

That reminds me of something else. I always get a lot of attention because of my license plate. One time I got pulled over on MY STREET for not having a front plate on my front bumper. It was a IL state trooper in one of those (burgandy) undercover Z28 camaros. Anyways, when the cop comes up to my window he starts giving me **** about my plate selection . Then he goes on to tell me how much faster his police cruiser is than my 7. He also told me that RX7s aren't that fast because he used to own a 1969 RX7. I said, "Sir, they didn't make an RX7 in 69, it was 79." He then argues with me about how it was infact a 1969 RX7. I finally said **** it because I didn't want to **** him off even more. The whole time my "car neighbor" is watching this. (He has a 1969 RS camaro with a 383 and a 250 shot). After I get my warning, my neighbor tells me to call the state office and report police haressment because the cop was giving me a hard time. ALSO the undercover car pulled me over after dusk, WHICH IS ILLEGAL in IL. Technically you do not have to pull over at nighttime if a undercover cop car gets on your ***, lightbar and all. Anyway I just let it all go and never did anything about it, but I do get a lot of attention because of my plates from vettes and stangs.

When I was in college in Iowa I had some guy run down the block just to look at my car pulling out of the car wash to give me a thumbs up.

Also had 4 drunk chicks pile in it after I showed up at a party demanding a ride before they got out. Luckly they were all small girls, God I loved being single then. So I took them for a little ride and had to stomp some poor guy in a v8 Tbird. Good thing I didn't see any cops two girls sharing the front seat and and one girl on each of the storage bins. Still one of my best memories of that car.

Long live the FD

Thumbs up

haha...i dont like people riding with me. i guess i like to be alone with it or something...eh anyway whenever some one is in there with me they get out n just like, everyone was staring at your car! i guess i dont notice it.

as for the annoying questions from ricers and ****, im a dick. i yell at these poor kids sometime. one time at a light some kid with i think his mom was like what car is that? i told him it was a civic and he believed it somehow. that was very funny

and i remember one time when i had it for like a month, i was at like a tire place a buddy worked at and this old dude keeps staring at it. he came over and started askin me about it. turns out he had owned a couple. i think he was one our members dad, because i saw the car in person once, and recognized it when the son i guess, was selling it on here. i know theres not more than one silver rx like that around here with only 20k miles =)

i still remember the night when i saw that car too, i was with my friend so i got to switch places and be the dumbass weirdo following him trying to give him a thumbs up and look at his car. hahaha
