I also get the occasional thumbs up, or "what the hell is that?"

But I get much more attention in my TR6.

Thumbs up

I've had many good stories of people admiring my car. For instance one day my car was parked outside my house in front of my window and a kid was riding by on his bike, as the kid rode by he was gawking at it and yelled "oh man!!!" he continued to look at the car as he rode by and eventually ran into a stop sign. lol The kid got up and was still looking at the car. Another was when I went to Hot Import Nights in Miami this paste December and I parked in the Miami convention center parking lot, by the time I came out from the show I had face and hand prints all over my driverside window (I have limo tint) from people trying to check out the inside of my car. There was one more instance when I had a flat tire and no spare and I had to get the car towed home. The entire way back I had people driving up to the tow truck on the interstate asking me how much do I want for it. Lol, I'm not gonna lie even though it's annoying sometimes it does feel real good when people compliment your car.

I get the usual thumbs up and gawkers, but my favorite experience was seeing this nice Lotus Seven last summer. I was with the G/F and we pulled up next to this guy and his wife at a light and told him he had a nice car and asked him if it was an original or a kit. He replied that it was an original (he said '62...I think) and I told him that it looked good. He and his wife said that they liked my FD and he jokingly asked if I wanted to trade. I told him he didn't want my headaches and we gave each other thumbs up and went on our way as the light turned green. Just a nice encounter with another car enthusiast.

A few seconds later, this black G35 Coupe (which had been behind the Lotus at the light) with bling wheels did a ricer flyby on a restricted lane (transit only). I'm not sure why he did that (too much traffic in front of us to race) but the G/F thinks that he was pissed because he wasn't getting any love sitting behind a clean FD and Lotus Seven...

I also get the usual thumbs up from random people on the streets. I remember going to the grocery store to get some things for my friends BBQ. Then as soon as I walk out of the grocery store, I see a flock of ricers parked around my car. All I could do was chuckle on the way back to my friends house. I also got a real estate agent who was selling a home across from me, to come over to my house. He comes over and hands me his Business card, "I'm like, I'm sorry sir, but I'm not intrested in buying a home. He looks at me and say's, if you ever decide to sell your car, give me a call. The funny part is I still got his Business card, but there is no way I'm selling my car.

Yes I experience some kind of reaction from people almost everytime I drive the car. Once I had a guy ask if it was a Viper, many simply do not know it at all. I think since F&F people seems to recognize it more often, most just say wow nice car. I tell them it is a 93 and most are shocked. Plenty of thumbs up from other drivers...the best thing is that regardless of how nice or expensive someone's else's "new car" is, it is simply never going to be as rare or as timless of a design as the FD. Porsche's & Vettes are a dime a dozen, although nice they are just too frequently seen. Lots of WRX guys out there, again a nice car for a lot of reasons & fast but no real style or grace....even the new RX-8 is nice but not really anything too special IMO...

When I got my car back from my single turbo set up with FMIC and body kit with
rims. I had the all the kids in the neighborhood, gawking and gathering
around my car every day after school.. And would bombard me with questions
when they saw me. The Euphoria of my Bad *** FD kinda wore out, but
i still get kids walking thru the neighborhood hooping and hollaring about
how bad my car is.. It even stops people driving by to look and stare.

Worse moment of my FD, was when I got into an arguement with some older lady.
She tried to tell me that my FMIC was a radiator. I was like " its my car I know
what it is and isn't it", then the lady saying it was a radiator and I didn't know
what I was talking about and stormed off. The nerve of some people..

I've been missin' out all these years, being afraid to buy the FD because it was the last seven. Boy was I stupid!

I was cleaning my FD near the pool at my apartment complex and the life guard came over to talk with me. He was a cool guy in his early 20's and he was from Poland. He told me he was in the states for the summer working but returning to Poland in the fall.

Then he pulls out his camera and ask if I can take a picture of him next to my RX7 . I figured it was harmless so why not, first shot hes near the front, then he goes over to the door for the second shot. He ask if he can get inside and I was cracking up as I took his picture behind the wheel of my car. I made this guys day, he was so excited and gratefull. It didnt register at first, but damm him hes getting some *** in Poland due to my RX7. I wonder how many people he told it was his ride when he was in the USA.

So my "chick magnet" is bilingual

Not necessarily true. People notice my car all the time. Usually they have a "Why the **** did it sounds like a Corvette on crack" kind of expression on their face

If I ever go to the McParts stores, I always get the counter people asking questions and gawking.

At the local high-end boutique stores where there are tons of Mercedes, BMW's, and Porsches, I still get a lot of people stopping by to take a look at the car and admire her.

I have her tinted with Huper-Optiks ceramic tint that cuts 80% of infrared heat, but is virtually clear, so it's easy for them to see inside, hence no hand/finger prints.

the only expiernce iv had like this is my "car club" hosted a meet which brought out about 200+ cars. when we went to host the next meet (have them monthly) we posted on the SRT forums, but none of them wanted to come because they complained about ppl leaning on there cars and "almost scratching there paint"..lol i wasnt complaining considering that meant no SRTs at the meet (boohoo )..only other time something similar happened was when my sister put a drink on my trunk cuz she had to like tie her show or something and i screamed at her for putting it there lol i thought she was about to cry

The more I read the more I remember, haha!

one time I dropped my gf off at the MARTA station (rail thru ATL)...she was going to the airport...as soon as she left, this lady comes up and leans down to see my face, and asks "Is this a SPORTS CAR???"

I smiled and said, yes...she was in awe. All I could figure was, she just landed in the states from some 3rd world country and only heard of sports cars, LOL!

I always pass buses in my town and 2/3 the time all the kids on whichever side have their heads out lookin at it wide eyed. The other day i got new tires at Discount Tire and all the workers werent doin there job, they were all surrounding my car. I was standing back and they were like, "Is this yours"? Then i popped the hood and they flipped. The look on their faces was the funniest thing.

Some where I have a post about a truck pacing me on the highway while girls flash their racks but I'll be damned if I can find it.

Actually here in Dallas you don't attract too much attention; you see FD's around. When I head up north to other states you'd think I was in a flying saucer so many people stop and look.

I'm surprised that none of you guys got the question, "Is that a Viper??" I got that alot. I told them it was a baby one!! Had a cop pull me over and asked me how fast I had taken it. Did'nt want to tell him 160. He bragged about taking his cruiser 170 while chasing someone, then gave me a ticket.....SON OF A BITCH!!

I have many similar stories.

One time I was at a gas staion pumping gas when a group of old guys in prestine, show-quality muscle cars and street rods showed up. While I was busy drooling over their cars, most of them had surrounded my FD and were gawking at mine. They were asking a bunch of questions, so I ended up giving them a little "tour". It felt really good to receive so many compliments from people with vehicles so much better than mine. I was extremely surprised.

On the flip-side, one time I encountered a group of guys surrounding my FD in a parking lot. They were all in awe and were taking pictures with their cell phones. But out of nowhere, they start claiming that my car "looked nice, but couldn't beat their friend's supercharged Grand Prix". I was curious as to what mods this Grand Prix had, so they took me a few spots down to where the Grand Prix was at. It turns out to be just a stock GTP with an intake and cat-back. And the basis of their argument was: "We're always beating Civics, and Integras, and..."

Bitch, does this look like a Civic to you!?!?

My experiences in public haven't been that great. I have a nice dent on the top of my driver's side fender where it meets the door, from what looks like someone leaning on it. I think it happened at one of the local car meets.

1) "Is that a 2006?"
2) Every woman that has ever ridden in my car has said 'this must be a chick magnet' even as they approached it.
3) "Where can I get one?"
My parking attendent gets most of the questions about what it is, what year, and what price and if it is for sale.

My friends visiting from Japan think I'm living large until I tell them its a 1993.

One of the most unique things on the car are the exterior and interior door handles. People get confused and first think that the exterior handles have been shaved. Then as they get out they try the window button, then the lock before getting a tutorial on the door lever.

I have been very surprised on how much attention this car draws.

1. It's rare, like 1-10 times I stop for gas and someone doesn't come up and ask what my car is or with some comment.

2. People pulling alongside me on the Interstate and taking pics with camera phones.

3. Sitting in a resteraunt listening to people comment about it, watching them check it out as they walk by.

Yesterday I was at a Thai place and the waitresses (little asian hotties) kept looking at the car through the window, then one asks me if it's mine, I say yes, then they both followed me outside to see it up close, yeah that was fun, then as they were leaving a guy stopped by, took a pic of it with his phone and talked to me about it for 20 min. Funny when someone who acts like they know their **** starts the conversation with "Is this a Supra?"

When I bought the car, it was because I always liked them and wanted to have one... I had no idea it was such an attention getter.

I only have the 2 efini badges on the car, I was going to put on the RX-7 and efini nameplates on but my wife says she likes that most people don't know what it is... I've been asked, Supra?, Vette?, Viper? and I smile and say Mazda.

One more thing, the other day I had my windows tinted, they did a good job so I sent my buddy there to have his done and when we went to drop his car off the guy was happy to see my car again, he even showed me he had my engine bay as his display on his cell phone, LOL. I didn't even ask what he was doing with my hood open to tint my windows.

guess were all doing a lil story telling so heres my quickie:

was cruisin to drop a friend of doing 41 ( i later found out) in a 35. It musta been because it was late, round 12:30 ish because this cop is gunna pull me over saying i FLEW by him back there. He asked for the usual and when he saw that the insurance and stuff was for a 93 mazda he said "No i need the insurance for this car...these say they are for a 93." I look at him almost about to smile and said " Yea..this Is a 93". HE stepped liek 3 ft back to get a nice good look at the whole car, smirked and said "nice car." unfortunately the dude STILL gave me a ticket. Probably felt a little stupid, heh

had to add that this:

"People get confused and first think that the exterior handles have been shaved. Then as they get out they try the window button, then the lock before getting a tutorial on the door lever."

is sooooooo damn true for ANY FD owner.

wurd on the handles...

best comment i ever got was when i pulled over to help this lady who had crashed her car and this girl and guy in an suv pull up as well. everything got sorted out and when we were about to leave the girl said, thats a bad *** FD. I was a little surprised.

Dumbest comment is when i was pickin my Girlfriend up from high school and i was going over a speed bump at like 1 mph traffic, had to rev the engine to do it slowly, and this lady bolts out of her car and threatens to call the cops on me for reving my motor at her. I said it was a manual and she said, "oh dont give me some european **** about manual cars, ive been there before and know better than you!" I was so pissed at the time, i yelled at her, "its a ****** mazda bitch, japanese."

Funniest comment i got was when i was working at blockbuster and this new guy asked me if it was a miata, and my manager FLIPPED out and started going off on him telling him to never call my car a miata again...i was sitting there wide-eyed about to crack up!

worst thing to happen to me was this punk ****** kid in his parents escalade thought it badass of him to cut me off while i was passing him, obviously he was ****** jealous of my car (he looked right at me in his side view mirror), made me crash my car, first crash, i was ****** PISSED. shattered a wheel, damaged another, killed the front right suspension, destroyed a set of GAB shocks i didnt know i had (from the previous owner). Car has never felt the same since... >=(

most recent gay thing, i was working at blockbuster at the time, and i watched some guy leave and go out to his H2, and open his door hard into my car and drive off and he didnt even ****** notice when he hit it...I hate H2's and Escalades...maybe its just the people that drive them, but does anyone else but me notice that they are the biggest fucktard drivers on the road?

other than that, i remember when i had first got my car (within the first month), these two hot girls started rubbing themselves up on my car, practically using my car as an erotic dance prop...i couldnt tell them to stop =p I honestly dont know how the whole dancing thing actually started, but its a good memory nonetheless lol.
