Onto the trailer the FD goes.....

And down the road to the rotary shop. What a kick in the nuts. I didn't have much time this weekend to diagnose the problem and even if I did I would of just ended up on the couch drinking beer wondering wtf, so it's just going into the shop to find out what's wrong.

It was idling like crap, and was smoking more than normal....big time gas smell from engine bay and from exhaust.

No hoping for the best on this one....I'm just assuming the worse and 100% ready to write a 5k+ check to get it fixed. If it is something minor, okay, cool, but I'm sure it won't be. This is why before purchasing this car, I saved an *** load of money for **** like this, but it still kinda sucks

******* RX-7 pieces of crap, didn't even get a reach around on this *** *******.....but god I still love them though.

This is a pretty crude post. Why do you see the need? Immature much?

Well, I am a little upset nonetheless, so you gotta give me a little venting room.

Owning an FD is a love/hate relationship.

I thought it was humorous, especially the reach around. Use that in a sentence and I'll always laugh

Smart move saving up a FIX IT fund. If you don't know the car's history, ie. previous owners and their driving habits, general condition of the car, having the money set aside helps tremendously. Still sucks ***** though.

several guys here also rebuild their own engines

We'll see. I just got back from dropping it off. Just from listening to it, they were guessing it was injectors or something electrical that was out of whack. But like they told me, if we can get passed the compression check and assume that the internals are good to go, it probably won't be that bad.

I intend on doing everything else myself after this go around that I can handle. I just need some more tools (and a service manual) at this point as I have never had a vehicle that didn't have factory warranty on it so I had no need for an elaborate tool collection.

You'd think crap like this would steer a guy clear of 7's all together.....but I can already tell we will have a much closer relationship after I get her back regardless of what was wrong. It will be a love/hate relationship and the car will be trying to put me upside down financially all the time, but I can't stop, I'm addicted.

Maybe it will learn it's lesson though, because if this costs too much and drains my repair fund, I'm taking her new paint job fund away and putting it into the maintenance fund to even the score
