but i do have to agree, after making such a mistake it probably wouldnt be a good idea to own another FD for at least 2 or so years....

There is only one way to learn to drive a car like this in adverse weather conditions.
Drive a car like this in adverse weather conditions.
I drove mine for 3 winters with no issues. Drove it 950 miles from MD to STL in December through the mountains of WV where it was pounding snow for 5 hours straight.
Maybe it's just something some people "feel" - but I have never had a problem controlling any car in adverse weather. But I understand the accelerator too I guess..
It's not like the car wasn't tested for stability and control in snow/sleet/ice - it's just not the best conditions to drive in..
Learn to drive = less wrecks.
Sorry to hear about the car. Get another one if you like - just be careful
"Curious, what mods were done to the car.."
"Borbet type T wheels, fluidine radiator, rx7 store downpipe, pettit short shifter, Greddy SP cat back, , Pettit intaks, mazdaspeed shifter ****, racing beat springs, tokico illumna shocks turbo xs bov, remapped ecu, and greddy pulleys"
There's the problem, no training wheels in the mod list. The termination of the limited available FD's is being accomplised in a very consistent way.
Young88 was likely ticketed for careless (or reckless) driving, ie not adjusting his driving to the current road condition (sleet + rain ). Glad he was not seriously hurt. Gladder he didn't injure someone else.

It's to cover their ***.. You know there always that ******* that will sue becuase it's not clearly written that Cruize-Control doesn't mean "Auto-Pilot"..

I'm sure that phrase "do not drive in ice or snow" is in pretty much every car.. hell, even SUV's aren't safe in it..
I do see your point though.
However, at the point at which it's obvious that the driver was not harmed in the accident, and isn't likely to travel back in time and suddenly become harmed in the same accident, concern can then be devoted to the fact that yet another FD has been stuffed by someone without the driving skills or experience required. Let alone that they might run right out to get another one because they've "learned their lesson"...
I love people who try to turn this type of thread into a sob fest for what MIGHT have happened to the driver and how we should all be so concerned that he COULD have been hurt... but wasn't. Not to be insensitive, but something actually has to happen to someone before I can be concerned about it. Someone DID wreck another FD, though, so it's perfectly logical to be concerned about that.

Even if the driver of the car doesn't listen to our advise atleast we tried.
