Is it ok to powder coat the compressor housing on a turbo?

Just wondering, about to send some stuff off to get powder coated

Just don't get the inside of the compressor housing powdercoated - just the outside that you see. It actually works really well and holds up well.

Powder coat is simply an appearance modification. You'd be better off having the snails ceramic coated if you're going to go to the trouble.

Also, make sure all the female threads on the Housing (specially the Primary Housing) get taped off well, otherwise, you'll have a hard time attaching all the components back on as the coating will increase the thread I.D.

so should i ceramic coat the hot side and powder coat the compressor, or ceramic coat both... im guessing that this is pretty expensive stuff....

The pricing says $21/foot for straight piping 3" to 4" in diameter.

A local shop does a nice ceramic on a 4-cyl turbo manifold or FD manifold for about $75.
