oil spatter from exhaust in morning

I started up my car this morning, and I let it do it's 3000rpm thing for a while. And I walked around the car, and noticed that it was spitting small droplets of oil out of the exhaust pipe. It doesn't do it all once the car's warm, only when just started. I've seen my brothers Camaro do this before, and I was wondering if there's anything I should be worried about. Thanks a lot.

It's not oil, it's condensation. It's black from the exhaust residue. It's normal.

Also, oil would be thick enough not to "splatter". It would simply accumulate in the bottom of the exhaust and dribble down.

Thanks guys. I was getting worried there for a minute. I hear all these stories about seals going bad. That's a relief.

Hey, Mahjik, I grew up in Kansas City, MO. I moved to Vegas when I was 15. What part of town do you live in? I lived in Verona Hills in South KC and went to Grandview High.

You seem to be one of the few that likes to have his car run at 3k rpm. Most of us (and I mainly speak for myself) put the car in first and start the car up only allowing it to idle at 1500 or less while warming up. I don't know about your car but I can't run mine at 3k till it get's warmed up or my oil pressure reaches well above 100psi. PS the black driplets are carbon, soot and condensation comming out of the tail pipe.

I'm the same way, I don't really like revving that high at start-up. But because of my turbo timer, when I get in, it's already in neutral. It's only when I forget to put it in gear that it does it.
