What exactly does the oil regulator do?

i'm guessing you already know judging by the

but in case you don't, it regulates the amount of pressure depending on rpm

i.e, it controls/produces oil pressure, without which, you would not have an engine

that is very true. no oil pressure = bad time for any engine

no, was doing my oil setup, and screwing the oil filter bypass plate (replaces the stock filter and gives 2 AN ports for a remote setup) someone was arguing to me that I only needed to dump the oil to the center, but I was trying to explain that you had to hit both holes to build pressure
