Oil Presure. (DEAD)

its been about a week that my oil presure gauge has been tripin like the ground wasn't secured enough or some sht.. then yesterday it just went dead.. doesn't move everything else is fine.... ?? wirering??? ground? haven't checked anything yet...

help

Check connection on back of pressure sensor.

Sensor went out, it's right below the oil filter.

Check the connection. Clean it off, dab some dielectric grease on the connector.

IIRC, mine cost about $65 from the local dealer a few years back. Malloy Mazda may be able to beat that price, however.

Ask for Ray Crowe at the mazda parts department. His number is 703-490-8170 or 1-888-533-3400.

It was a while since I replaced that unit, wasn't too much, under $100 (call Ray; Maloy Mazda). I get every stock part from Ray, so much that he doesn't even need to ask me for my last name to look up my account.

Mine did the same thing as yours before it died. I tried cleaning the contact...didn't work. Think those units are prone to failure. Read a few people here replacing and it went out in a few months. Mine hasn't given me any more trouble...and I replaced that a few years ago.

yah lol it kept doing that.. then it would stop and start again... till it went dead 2 days ago..
