Unhappy Oil Pan / Motor mount bolt hole leak

To anyone and evryone that may be able to help.

I recently had an oil leak coming from what looked like the back of the oil pan, after dropping the subframe out of the car we reinstalled a new oil pan gasket and also had to replace the motor mounts ($240.00 each.. ouch!! : ( Anyway we put everything back together and oil is still leaking from what appears to be the 3 motor mount bolts that go through the pan on the drivers side, Is there something im missing here? yesterday in an attemp to fix this leak we unbolted the motor mounts and lifted the engine then re torqued the 3 main motor mount bolts again yesterday but it still appears to be leaking from those bolt holes, any help would be greatly appriciated.

Unless you want to redo it all again, you have only one option. Drain the oil down about halfway.
Remove the leaky motor mount, let any oil in the area drip out until it stops. Clean all oil from the mount, three bolts, and the area around the three bolts holes with a cleaner that does not leave any oily residue, like CRC brake cleaner in the Red and Black can. Coat the area around the holes with a good amount of the best oil resistant silicone sealant. Let it partialy cure. Do thesame for the mating surface of the mount. Reassemble it all and when you do it, apply fresh sealant to the threads of the three bolts.

We, Rick and I, do not use pan gaskets anymore on the engines that we rebuild. We only use silicone sealant and do not have any problems.

It's interesting that you have this problem. I'm having my engine rebuilt right now at KD rotary. Dave the owner and I were talking and he stated to me that those bolts are the main cause of engine oil leaks. That's why when I sent him my motor to rebuild you asked for the motor mounts as well, so that he could install them and put the right type of silicone seleant so the bolts would not leak any more.
Good luck.

I think that the post up above is correct.

I have the same problem

I have the same problem. What all has to be removed and in what order to remove the oil pan while the engine is still in the car?

Still having problems, my mechanic unbolted the mounts, raised the motor, drained the oil, cleaned, and applied silicone to the mounts and the bolts. My RX7 sat overnight and dried before adding new oil however is still leaks. I guess he has to drop out the entire subframe again?
