IA Oil Metering Pump

Ok i know this has subject has been discussed before but i just dont get it. Removing the omp means that you can premix in the gas tank with oil (1.3oz:1gal). But ive also read that you can premix while still having the omp hooked up. Now for the fact that running synthetic or not while still having it or not having it dosnt matter because the synthetic keeps the life of the turbos better than dino oils, but as a result it builds up carbon in the combustion chamber right? But using the premix in the gas defeats the carbon build up. The main purpose of me removing this is to clean up the engine bay. I want to do the emissions removal also, power steering and AC are gone as well. I dont mind on premixing and looking like a (Chemist) at the gas station. I dont want the adapter kit that has the extra tank. The turbo im going to running is the garett GT37R. The oil im going to use is the 20w50 from rx7.com and the premix they sell as well. Also running methanol injection with nitrous intercooler spray. What do you guys think?

P.S. I hate V8's.

Use Amsoil hp two cycle oil ,it is ashless .No carbon build up and smokeless .I have the adapter and extra tank and only use Amsoil . I have done it for the last seven years ( bought the adapter 2001 ) . You can pre mix as well ,I buy it by the case .

So you guys are saying removing the omp and getting the adapter and the extra tank? Can you use any premix you want with that or just Amsoil?

Northern7 why did you remove your omp? Was it hard?

Yes, you can do that. That will remove premixing, but you'll then need to make sure NOT to run the extra tank dry.

You still want to use something which will be low in ash content. Amsoil just happens to be something which fills that requirement.

The adapter goes between the OMP and the motor . The extra tank feeds 2 cycle oil to the OMP .Remove the OMP and premix the Amsoil into the gas tank , if you need to clean up the area . If you get rid of the OMP you will need to premix . The adapter lets you use the 2 cycle oil injected in to the motor from the extra tank . My home made tank holds over 3 qts .I do not like to mix at the filling station with the measuring and pouring ect . my engine area looks fair even with the OMP and the lines .It is not a show car .

rx73rotorj I removed my omp at the request of my engine builder. He strongly recommends premixing yourself. It puts you in control of the car. Thats what i was told by him. He felt it was just safer method all around. You will see my omp for sale very soon!

Curious. How many miles you get out of this 3qts tank? Does car use any of main oil?
