Oil Leak..WhereTF is it!

im working on getting some pics

anyways i was under the car trying to find out where the leak is coming from...only leaks small few drops off of the cross member right below the pan when the car is running.

looking under the car after drying everything off and running it up to temp the oil seems to only drip when it wants too...i can't tell exactly where its coming from but ive found that when looking directyl up at the pan, the visible vac line connecting to a nipple on the bottom of the turbo always has a large drop on it and where the medal rod goes into the circular valve/canister there is always oil around the rod ill hav a pic up in a minute

i really cant see a drip from anywhere it just drips off the crossmember...just like condensation...

It is one of the following in no real order.

1. Oil pan
2. Primary turbo, oil return line (two gaskets)
3. Oil metering pump o-ring, or copper washer(s) leaking
4. Front cover
5. Front cover main seal (would be a radial spray pattern)
6. Primary turbo inlet (the wastegate and precontrol solenoids dump back in)
7. Primary turbo precontrol and wastegate lines leaking
8. CCV or ABV leaking or venting to atmospher

mine along with almost every fd owner will have some sort of oil leak from the oil pan,
thanks to the engineers that designed the motor mount to bolt through the oil pan.
unfortunatley there's only one way that i know of to resolve this issue and you know what it is.

hopefully it's something easy to fix, like a line or something, but good luck.
keep us informed.

Entire subframe has to come down but not out of the car. You need to support the motor somehow, either from the top with a cross bar or hoist or under the transmission. Do not use a gasket. Clean everything really well, dimple the oil pan and underside fo the motor where the oil pan mounts, install an oil pan brace and washers on all the bolts. I like to use "the right stuff" gasket maker by permatex. Snug the bolts and let the silicone cure overnight before final torquing and filling with oil. There are plenty of write ups on this.

well ive read some of the writes ups on the oil pan installation...major pain it looks like...some people where able to do it without messing with the subframe...wil a standard hydo jac work to hold up the tranny? Is dimpling really necessary as in taking a screw driver and poking pits all over the faces?
