oil pan gasket tends to leak...ive got a good amount of gunk under there too. If you're messy with your oil changes, it can get that area pretty dirty...clean it all up and see how quickly it returns. Be sure to check the filler neck and the oil filter area, since those tend to get a little leaky too.

Do you have the oil pan gasket or is your pan just sealed with silicon? If you dont have the gasket it wouldnt be a bad idea to use one the only thing is you're going to have to drop that whole crossmember out just to do it.

As far as the oil pan, I was told to not use the oil pan gasket (the Mazda one I was told is paper based and doesn't work well) and just seal it with silicon (I didn't do the work though).

Mine hasn't leaked since.

Try to find a good mechanic to do the job, because you have to support the motor from up top, and then drop the engine subframe/crossmember, to get to the oil pan. I tried it myself, using just sealant, and it developed a leak from one of the engine mount bolts. I had a professional do it, simply because he could put it up on a hydraulic lift and have more room to work under the car to work. If you have access to a mechanic shop, do it yourself.
