Oil Drain Line for RA OMP Adapter

It seems like no one has done this (or at least post it) for the stock twin running with the RA OMP Adapter.

This is how Crispy does it for a GT35 single:

But on the stock twin, it's very tight. I tried doing this with a rubber Aeroquip line but it was so tight, I had to loop it once to get the fittings to line up. But after looking at how close the rubber line was to the manifold, I decided not to go this route, even with the fireproof thermal sleeve because the Aeorquip line was rated for only 300 degrees F.

So I decided to fabricate my drain line using 1/2 inch aluminum Moroso tubing with Earl -8AN nut and -8AN tube sleeve. Also used a tubing bender with a 37 degrees flaring tool from Summit racing. Took me about five tries to get the bends right.

You'll need also -8AN male to 1/2NPT adapter from summitracing plus the following:

Pictures of the line mounted without the fire sleeve:

With the fire proof heat sleeve:

Have you put the motor in the car and put any miles on this setup yet? Any leaks/issues?

This is honestly the best solution I've seen to the problem with using the RA adaptor with the stock twins. Did you have to make any other provisions for the adaptor or was this it?

I'm in the process ............. adding the Sohn, R/A, OMP adapter.

Have you had any leaks with this drain line?
Would you do it differently?

I'm thinking steel fittings and tube, plus a short section of rubber hose for flex.

Nice work! If only RA made the adapter a little thinner we wouldn't have any problems. I have a 99 spec engine for my black car which uses the Mikuni OMP. The Mikuni unit is shorter then the ones on our cars which allows the adapter to fit with no modifications.

I stole this picture from goodfellas build thread, he compares the two units.

hey Scrub, is that a direct drop in or are the electronic controls different to a normal 93-95 car?

I put 1400 miles on the car. all hard miles at 12-14 psi. No leaks as far as I can see under the car.

Anything else I could remember? It was very tight running the braided stainless OMP oil lines from the relocated OMP to the oil injectors. It took me at least 5 or 6 tries with the turbo out of the way and the air pump (with the engine out of the car too) to get it right.

Thanks for the follow up. I have stainless OMP lines so that's good to know.

How has nobody caught onto this before?
