number of New crate Engines

Hi guys

According to our Mazda dealers here in Australia the total amount of Mazda FD RX7 Crate engines left is 6 ..... 3 in New Zealand and 3 in Japan .

I was lucky enough to get my hands on one from New zealand they dont come cheap anymore just under $9000 .

$9k for a stock motor... probably has the 3 piece seals still also, not to mention 20 year old original coolant seals(rubber).

I got the last new one from Malloy here in America. First order of business was breaking it apart for a rebuild with stronger seals, higher compression rotors, a street port, and stronger tension bolts (Elliot's kit).

I got one of the last new motors also. IRP pulled it apart for porting. Quite nice.

Aye, I was especially pleased considering my last engine looked like this:

And the previous builder claimed it was all "well within" Mazda specifications... (and yes, those are two gouge marks in my iron.. no idea how they got there but this pic was taken less than 1,500 miles after a rebuild)

I'll take this:

Over that:

Any day of the week!
