is this normal?

at about 3500 to 4000 didn't pin point it exactly but that is when my boost kicks in, but it only gives me 5psi and when I reach around 5000-5500 that is when I get a full 10psi. My mods are non sequential, intake, dp, and greddy fmic. When I had my turbo cars (eclipse gst, srt-4), when I would reach boost it would be full boost all the way through redline, this seems to give me 5psi right away and then it eventually gets me to 10psi. Now say I go off the line from 1st all the way to 3rd it stays at 10 psi but between shifts it like bleeds to 8 then back to 10. This is the best way I can explain this if it is not good enough let me know and I will try harder lol, any bit of info would be appreciated thanks

I guess this is normal, and I have tried to search but in this forum if you type in boost issues everything else other than boost issues pop up, if anyone has a link to someone that might of had the same problem (if its even a problem) please post it thank you

are you running full non-seq or poor mans. If you're running the poor mans non-seq, that could be your problem. For full non-seq, boost should start to build at around 3k and you should see full boost by 4k.

well full non-sequential requires a lot of blockoff plates and weldong. Basucally, they remove all of the turbo related solenoids, except for the WG solenoid, then the weld the precontrol door open(or shut, I forget), and block off all the nipples and such for the precontrol actuator and the solenoids... There's probably more involved, but I'm not too positive on the details.

Poor man's basically involves tying open(or closed, I forget which) the precontrol stuff actuators.

If you search the FAQs, you should be able to find some details writeups on each with pictures. Sorry I can't be more helpful, I'm a checkbook mechanic, myself...

Check your wastegate actuator and see if the rod is hooked up. You will likely have to get underneath the car to check and see if hte rod is hooked up. Im betting it isnt and that is likely your problem. Ive seen very similar symptoms when this has happened in the past. Very very slow building boost until above the 5k mark.
