Question Nitto's or ET-streets.

I am looking at buying some drag radials for my stock rims, but I can’t decide if I should buy the nitto 555r or the MT ET-streets. I have been leaning towards the ET streets but I am running on the stock diff, but I do have the new diff brace installed. So any incite or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

either tires will break a stock diff or axles. my first hard launch on small nitto 555r's snapped an axle

if you plan on drag racing get 300M chromoly axles and a T2 diff or some other clutch diff......then you will start breaking trannies

i've been through all of this with my car. if you want to drag race be prepared to spend money

Thanks Vosko, and trust me I know about spending money, and I under stand that something is going to give one way or the other I just hope it will be the tries and not anything else. But I guess it is bound to happen sooner or later. What I am trying to say is would the ET streets be a little over kill right now and that the Nitto’s would hold just fine. I have never ran on drag radials and I am just curious as to what other people used when they had about the same modifications that I do with 396hp, and how they held up at the track and on the street.

459rwhp at 15psi is awesome. Hopefully I will be putting down numbers just as good, with some new parts I am getting after this winter.

peak power was 459rwhp @ 15psi. i was street tuning for 20psi a few days before the accident with the car.........i don't have any dyno numbers for past 15psi unfortunately.

i just figured i'd give fair warning about what is gonna break!

boostn7 has 400rwhp and broke the same things i did he just broke less transmissions because he is a better driver

i am building the T2 with what i learned from the FD...it should be even faster.... i'm pretty sure it will not handle like the FD did but it should be alot of fun. now comes the waiting

i'm a tad over 350whp on 15psi (very mild tune) and i run the 555r's, but i also have a kaaz and have snapped an axle, but it was because of wheelhop. if you are actually driving on the street, use the nittos, the et street are absolute junk on the street

the stock axles are weak. like i said you need to reinforce everything to drag race reliable and that costs ALOT of money.......

I like that..We need faster cars here, regardless of what they are.

With the power you are making now, I wouldn't even mess with Nittos. Have you considered BFG drag radials? Then get some used ET's and cheap *** spare wheels for the track or weekend. JMO..

I heard there are some fast LS1's there. The ones I heard about are a silver Formula, a red WS6, and some black Z06 with flames on it.

There are some very fast LS1 hear in Abilene no doubt about that. I know who the silver formula is I don’t know who the WS6 is and the Vet I know who that guy is too.

Drifter 93, you will get better times on ET Streets and save your axles too.

The ET Streets wrinkle a bit absorbing shock. At some power level well beyond mine, breaking axles becomes an issue regardless of the tire, but for weekend drag racing, ET streets are great.

They are NOT for daily use however. They have no tread, are worthless in the rain, go flat if you pickup the slighest sharp item, are biased belted and handle badly except in a straight line.

Mount them on extra wheels and use them on drag strip days.

I recommend et streets and a kazz diff.

Put the et streets on your stock wheels and get you a set of RH C2s to drive around on.

I drive my car to the track with the et streets and let me tell you it is an experience. The back in moves around alot

What size ET streets do most people use on the stock rims?
