Talking new project check it out

me and my friends are starting a new project. were basicaly taking a 93 base model and turning it to a fast as hell street/drag car ( more drag than nething), but were gona be able to drive it on the street. my boys shop is going to be sponsering us and giving us all the funds we need. but all we have to do is put in our time. granted it will be his car ill still be able to drive it.

so heres our ( basic ideas )

20b bridgeport with a 92mm turbo
full cage
drag radials
99 spec body panels

more to come just dont have enough time right now. let me know what yall think and give me some more ideas. thanks guys

You may as well start planning what to use for the rear. Some good discussion here:

we were actualy thinking about converting it to a strait axle and using a ford 9in. and then just building the axle from there. cuz weve had older cars that run up to 900hp on the 9in and never had ne problems. im not sure how much work its gona be but its just a possibility right now. this car is gona b a drag car all the way. the whole reason of us building this is because of the older guys here are all about muscle, so were building this to prove that imports can produce power and hang with them at the track.

If its a drag car/nasty street car why make it 99spec? If you plan to "street race" the car you're giving your competition the heads up that you have money... Plus the fact that a drag car is constantly being torn down and worked on; you'll beat up that nice body work

Get a roller and just build it up. A 13B can go plenty fast, but if you don't have a budget 20b is more then enough.

well what were actualy using is a fiberglass one peice front end. and were gona mold the 99 spec lights/body lines on to it just to give it more of a street appeal. were gona use a 99 spec wing for the mean time until we make the drag wing for it. but you do have a point about constantly tearing it doen and putting it back together. but either way it gona suprise the hell outa some people when we get her runnin

So you plan on building an import to prove the muscle car guys wrong... but you're going to use muscle car parts to do it. Interesting.

but its all worth it in the end. we all get to show the old guys that there are alternatives to v8s. oh and were going up against 8sec cars. these arent ur weekends racers either. these guys put alot of time and way to much money in there cars. but i think we will do just fine.
