New, please help with tranny

First off, I'm new here guys so don't crucify me for being stupid. I was driving to work last week and I bottomed the 7 out on my driveway (not sure if that is relavent or not). I got about a mile up the road and noticed that it was starting to get hard to get into gear, by the time I reached the main road (about 7 miles) I had to tach the motor up just to get into gear. I had to stop at a redlight and went to put it into first and it would not go. I then comissioned to turning off the car, putting it into first, then starting it with the clutch in. The car started and took off with the clutch still engaged. I jacked the car up today and there was no fluid anywhere or any sign that I bottomed out. Right now I am thinking that it is the slave cylinder but I am not for sure. Any ideas would be great, thanks. Also I need a drivers side headlight cover/door if anyone knows where I could get one, thanks.

Its either the master cylinder or the slave cylinder if you are not seeing any fluid. Does the clutch pedal feel different?

I'm in agreeance with zinx; sounds like one of the pistons either in the master cylinder or the slave cylinder is leaking past (internally), and therefore not building up the necessary hydraulic pressure to DISengage the clutch. It's a shoot and miss with them; try a slave cylinder, if you still have the same condition, it's going to be the master cylinder. Double check the fluid level too, just because you don't see fluid now doesn't mean it didn't already leak out.

The clutch pedal doesn't feel any different. Do you have to pull the engine to seperate it from the transmission?

To do the slave or the master cylinder no not at all. They sell rebuild kits for the slave cylinder I have been told. Jack up the drivers side of the car, the slave cylinder is above the starter on the transmission, when you take it out just be careful not to drop the pin that goes from the slave to the pivot fork into the transmission. Once you take off the slave you should test it and see if the seal on the inside leaks, you need to take off the dust cover on the slave to do so.

It can also be the clutch fork broken! Jack the car up and put jack stands under it and have someone push the clutch in and out while you look through the inspection cover. Oh remove it first its easier to see! Check for breakage and or movement.

I was thinking that too, but wouldn't the pedal be really soft or even stick to the floor if the fork was broken? I guess its worth a quick look since its easy to see.

if it isn't any of the above problems, heres another one.

I had my pilot bearing shear twice in my FC, and both times it locked my flywheel and transmission input shaft together. I'll never forget that little dust seal again!
