New Defi gauges
If you are like me, you have been looking for good quality gauges that match the stock gauges. Defi is set to release new gauges that feature their playback unit and have amber backlighting. They have boost, EGT, temp, pressure, and AF gauges. The units of measure are English, not metric. Just looks like a good solution to me. I have wanted to replace the stock oil pressure and coolant gauges for a long time now. I think these gauges will be small enough to fit in the stock cluster. They have black or white faces on the gauge.

That's pretty exciting. I too have been waiting for good black face, orange/red backlight gauges in US units with memory features. But I agree with JoeD... three ticks between 10 and 15 psi? Wtf? I hope it's just a funky pic or something. The old ones aren't like that.

Is it that hard?

Yeah I'm not so sure on these. At first when I saw them I thought they were cool, but not now.

I did kind of glance over the flyer I had. I think I got had by marketing because I thought they were part of the LINK system too! I guess I missed your thread from earlier. I think they still are nice-better not come with the LINK prices!
Tell me honestly though, can you really get a good visual number while driving 100 mph and accelerating? I can get a good idea and that is what matters to me-not the actual number.

I've read elsewhere that most drivers look at the position of the pointer and don't necessarily read the graduations. After reading that I paid more attention to what I was doing and yes, I know where the pointer should be and don't actually "read" the gauge unless the pointer isn't where I expect it.

the gauge will be more precise if the graduations went one by one...not by 1.125! in a normal gauge (one that goes 1 notch = 1 psi) if the needle is in between a graduation, you know that its .5. what if the needle is between a notch in this gauge...you gotta bust out the calculator and start to think about how much boost you are running. **** that!
it would be more straight foreward if the graduations equaled 1 psi. thats how all other boost gauges are, and thats how they should be.
