These kinds of open-ended questions usually get panned on here, because its really impossible and wrong to try to answer your question. You need to do a lot of searching here before asking more focused questions. The first thing you need to do is be sure you have a good base and go for the reliability mods. Read all the faqs on that. There are then a lot of ways you can go. Race/track car. Boulevardier. Garage queen. Street car. Whatever. Many many ways to go. Read everything you can from Dale Clark and Howard Coleman as a start. PM people with specific questions.
Welcome! And good luck with whatever you decide to do!

Welcome. I like the color. And I second what Mr. Monsen said. You need a baseline for maintenance.
*Get a copy of the Factory Service Manual.
*Change all the fluids...engine oil, brake fluid, transmission and differential gear oil, coolant and t-stat.
*Change fuel filter
*Plugs and probably plug leads (recommend NGK in stock heat ranges)
*Check brake pads
*Belts
*closely check coolant hoses, especially the turbo coolant lines.
*An all metal radiator and metal AST...or properly delete the AST.
*Cleaning grounds, maybe adding additional grounds (a search should show more info)
*Maybe ditch the turbo timer and fix anything else that needs it.
THEN think about performance modifications. First thing that comes to mind is improving on the stock IC. You have a boost controller, has the intake been modified already?
