Need Some Non Sequential Help

I just did a poor man's nonsequential conversion and am having some problems.

First the car only boosts to 7 pounds (spring pressure?)

Second on start up I get a horrible screeching sound (Kind of like a little bottle rocket). Its not the belts.

The car builds boost at about 2500 rpms and climbs straight till 7 then stops. I tied the Turbo pre controll assemly flapper arm foward untill I could get rid of it. I also have the charge controll flapper wired open on the intake pipe and selonid blocked off.
My vaccuum hoses are attached as per the picture I have included. I can't figure it out, I searched and couldn't find what I need. Any help would be great.

After checking all my vac hoses and couplers I think it has something to do with the flappers and the way I have them wired open. I am guessing the secondary turbo isn't being kicked in.
Is the turbo precontrol actuator susposed to wired away from the front bumper as opposed to foward, where it sits when the car is off? Also is the waste gate flapper susposed to be wired foward towards the front bumper?
Previously my pfc controlled the boost through the rats nest with out a boost controller, could this be the problem? I didn't think so because it was limited to .92bar but I really don't have a clue at this point.

the turbo control door in the exhaust manifold should be wired open, towards the front of the car.

No, the WG is used to control the boost. That's the one flapper you should ignore.

I have the precontrol actuator wired towards the back of the car. After searching I found most people do it this way. The waste gate actuator is left alone and connected to the nipple on the turbo pipe by as per the picture. The TCA actuator is wired fowards towards the front of the car (open) and the CCA is not wired but capped off so it should be open (away from the actuator and not sucked in). I checked the wG and it works when I put pressure in the line.
I am still only generating .43 bar . Its comes on line very quick but just stays that way till redline. I really don't have a clue at this point, the car did this once but it was because I had the two selonids on the UIM reversed. They are gone now so I really don't have a clue whats going on.

You removed both solenoids under the UIM? Are you running an aftermarket boost controller?

Yes I have one I made out of a water pipe valve like on http://www.rx7.org/Robinette/. I never though to check the o ring in it though. Maybe its a boost leak there.

Based on the boost you're seeing (quick 7 psi), I doubt it's a boost leak. I think it's a solenoid/check valve/vacuum hose/control issue. What about the plate in the rear half of your y-pipe....did you remove that?

I assume you are talking about the charge control actuator. Its capped off right now which would leave it open from what I have read. With the set up now there is only one check valve which runs by the oil neck. The only solenoid on the car that is active is the waste gate one which I checked and it responds to pressure.
I am going to rip apart the car again tomorrow and redo all the vacuum hoses. Any ideas on specific areas to check while I am doing the job?

I still can't figure out why I am only getting 7 lbs of boost. I removed all the emissions stuff and put in all the block plates including the one for the butterfly valve on the y pipe. I tested the waste gate actuator and it responds under pressure and re checked all my hose connections and couplers. Is there a possibility that my cat could be clogged, I am still running an air pump? Is there any way to test for a clogged cat besides taking it off the car?

Does your boost controller still run the pair of pills in the vacuum lines near the turbos? If they're needed and you removed them, that would be your problem.

The boost controller replaces the stock pills so they are unneeded. I think my cat is clogged or my turbos may be bad. When I boost to the 7lbs and get to about 5k and let off the gas I am getting a lot of gray smoke. Especially if I come to a stop after I do this. It doesn't smell like coolant and my engine still pulls 430 mmhg at idle and is steady so I don't think its the engine. I am assuming the turbo oil seal is blown and that the turbos can't generate enough pressure to open the waste gate which is why I am only seeing 7 lbs. ,
Does anyone know if this is a possibility?

I re did all my hose connections and made sure everything was capped off and there were no cracks in any couplers and it still only generates 7 lbs.
Anyone's thoughs would be appericated I am going to seach and see if I can find anything. Hopefully replacing the turbos wont be to bad, I may just upgrade if that is what my problem ends up being.......

Honestly man, I *seriously* doubt it's the turbos. If they were bad and not boosting properly, you'd hear lots of bad noises and it would be really apparent that they were screwed.

I still think it's the control system. Are you positive the boost controller is hooked up correctly? 7 psi is what you would see with the boost controller off, or at the minimum setting.

I followed the nonsequential setup exactly and the only thing I did different was wire all the doors open untill I actually had the time to take the turbos off. The only selenoid on the car would then be the charge controll valve and waste gate actuator. The boost controller is connected from the waste gate to the second nipple on the turbo with everything else capped off and block off plates installed. With it fully open I get 7 with it fully closed I get 7 with it one turn from closed I get 7 ect ect......What else to the controll system could I be missing? I am up for trying anything if it means I don't have to pull off the turbos and put in new ones. Is there a setting on the PFC that can keep a turbo from spooling or limiting boost?
Is there a possibility that the waste gate actuator is "bad" requiring extra pressure to open and thus it isnt. Under 80 psi from a compressor the thing flys open lol.... I checked all the wire jobs and they are very secure and in the right positions.
Before I did the vaccum job the turbos never smoked like they did today that I have ever noticed. I am pretty sure that an oil seal is bad and they are on their way out. There was smoke for about 50 seconds after I let off the gas.....
If you want to come down to PA and help me figure out the problem I will provide food and beer lol. Any ideas are appreciated this is driving me nuts. I think tomorrow I am going to go buy another valve or put the stock restrictors back in the lines and see what happens.

Boosting only to 7psi sounds like no pills. Your controller may also be faulty. Bypass the controller, if it's safe for your set up, and see what you get. You may want to consider an electronic boost controller, if only temporary, just to verify the boost issue. I just installed the old school Profec B.

The screeching could be the water pump. Try some WD40 to quiet it down. (you'll still need to replace it eventually.)

As far as the smoke and your belief the turbos may be on their way out, pull the pipe from the IC to the throttle body. Check for oil. It's OK if there's a light film of oil but if its pooling or in the throttle body then yes your turbos are leaving you.

The oil being sucked back into the engine is what can increase your vacuum. The oil helps the motor seal better and thus pulls a stronger vacuum. However oil also increases pressure within the motor and because it doesn't burn like fuel it can lead to another unfortunate event. Boom.

Good luck (and you should really go back to sequential. I did.)

I changed out the cat for a midpipe and wham problem solved kind of. I can get 14 lbs but its really slow because of the secondary turbo ......The screeching was the air pump free venting for some reason so I routed down to the ground and its fine now.
The turbos are defiently bad though. I now get gray smoke at idle and when boosting past 7psi tons of gray smoke and it looks as though the car is on fire from behind lol. I have come to the conclusion then that the turbos are bad.
Now to either upgrade to BNR's or go with the stockers or possibly single.
