Need some help please
Need some help please
Hello all hope your well, I have a bit off an issue. I just rebuilt my engine and had the garage put the engine back in as he took it out. ( didn’t want to Lie down on a wet English driveway 🤦♂️🤦♂️)
I towed the car home after he put it in, as there was some more bits I wanted to do first, and I wanted to put the oil in and put all new water pump and thermostat coolant ect.
once I had done that I charge the battery over night popped it back in in the morning, i made sure pre mix was all done and tuned the engine to build oil pressure before really starting.
once I was happy I put relays ect back in, and to my happiness it started on one crank!!!!!!!! I couldn’t believe it.
ok so here’s the problem! It ran for about 30/40 seconds and just died. I tried and tried to start her but nothing all day. (At this point I did remove plugs and check for flooding bone dry!) so pissed of i put the battery back on charge and went to bed.
next day went out put battery on cranked the key and she fired right up! Ran for about a min then died.
same again I checked for plugs flooding nothing!
then I cranked it over and over and fuel(gas) was pouring out under the engine.
after a few days I realised he’d put the fuel lines on the engine bay on in the wrong order.
I’ve done the right order and the fuel has stopped pouring out. 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
but before even if it didn’t fire it always sounded as if it would.
now when you crank it it just turns over and nothing.
ok so question 1, having the fuel lines (pressure, vent, return) in the wrong order would it cause damage to any components I.e FPR.
question 2, where was the fuel coming out from it all seemed dry on top. But hard to tell, but it was a lot!
question 3, has anyone got any advice please as I am at a loss.
also today I took all the UIM rats nest off and checked the fuel lines and there all tight! And brand new as I replaced them all
Thanks for taking the time to read my dilemma and any help would be amazing.
Cheers
Jamie

Question 1 - shouldn't cause damage. I worked on an FC once with mixed up fuel lines, ran REALLY weird, took a while to troubleshoot.
Question 2 - hard to say, it may have been going past the injector O-rings or something.
You said fuel was pouring out - did you ever determine where it was coming from? Jump the FP and GND in the diagnostic connector and turn the key to On to run the fuel pump full time to diagnose and look for leaks. FYI, I do this before starting a car to make sure there are no fuel leaks.
