Please Help, Starting Problem.
So a few weeks ago i thought i would have some fun with the old 7. I hardly get to drive it. I was doing some um...spirited driving. had it revved kinda high. And it dies on me. I thought i might have flooded it. I have the Rtek chip there since it had a rebuild. I tried their trick and couldn't get it started. i tried pulling out the fuses and nothing. Then i gave up and tried to push start with my bro-in law. Nothing so i assumed it was not flooded and we pushed it home where it sat for a few weeks.
i thought that maybe it was the alternator since it died while i was moving. and also because me battery seemed to be draining as i attempted to start it. so today i took my alternator and battery to be checked and it was the other way around. the alternator was good and my battery was no good. now this has me really stumped. so they gave me a new battery. i took it home and reinstalled everything. ALL the car does is crank. it sounds like its not getting fuel. it has a new fuel pump. so please help help this rookie get his car started before the summer is over.

Could well be flooded really badly from sitting and not running with some leaky injecotrs I'm not sure. If you can measure the fuel pressure do that. If you getting white puffs of smoke out ur exhaust or can smell fuel whilst cranking means flooded I would say give it a tow start works everytime for me. If not check ur plugs make sure you got some spark. If you got spark and fuel pressure it's gotta go.

Does it stink like there's buckets of fuel in there? I've got a very similar problem at the moment. Won't start, suspect flooding, turn the fuel pump off, still won't start. It feels like it's flooded, but without the strong fuel smell. I was able to get mine going with a tow start, but it's been a dog to start ever since, once it's going it's fine. Battery is strong. I has a similar experience with it cutting out while driving. I'm suspecting, it's a fuel problem, but the lack of (maybe a blockage: injectors, fuel filter). sigh.... it never ends.

No there is no smell of fuel. I have a new fuel pump and new secondaries. and new filter. so unless it's a problem with the primaries? i dunno

Epitrochoid Chamber FTW
ATF start.= Automation Transmission Fluid. Works like a charm for blown pistons is your rotary! :P
IF ya don't how to do this reply and I'll tell ya... Push starting it, I don't believe will do anything when it's flooded. Execept make it roll and smell like gas... Do that when your starter or battery is toast.
