You need a pump and just fill it from teh side until it starts to drip out. That is the way I have aways done it, and I use to work at a chevy house.

I fount it easier to remove the shifter panel and snake the fill tube on the side of the transmission into the fill hole and gravity feed from inside the car. This way all the oil gets inside because if done from the ouside, the oil travels down and than has to be forced up to go inside the transmission.

whoa no ways, my reply/photos got in to the archives

in anycase, check out my pics, its the one at the top with the square bolt, is the one to refill from, make sure you can take that one off before you drain the fluid. also, 2 1/2 quarts is exactly how much should have come out, i believe this is the exact amount that is in the tranny. in anycase, make sure you jack up the rear of the car and put jackstands to support it before you refill the tranny or you might not be getting enough fluid in. if you only jack the front of the car up, you will put the tranny at an angle and you might not get all the fluid that is possible in to the tranny. good luck and have fun

you can also use a pressurized system (i made one out of some tubing strapped to a 10 dollar bug sprayer which can pump fluid in any direction you want )

your way is also good but does not really work for the diff fluid some thing you should change out at the same time

Just be sure that there are no leaks in the hose, spills from the bottles, etc. 90W would be tough to get out of upholstery.
Personally, I spent a few bucks on a cheap pump. I'm clumsy and would rather risk a spill on the garage floor.
