need help installing greddy elbow
I bought the ss greddy elbow and after taking off the plastic stock one, I noticed there was a hose that connects to the stock one, but greddy doesn't have one.
Where would that hose connect to once the greddy elbow is installed? Where does that hose connect on the other end?

That hose is the AWS ( Auto warmup start) hose. You can plug that and not worry.. You should be able to see the metal pipe that it connects to on the backside of the UIM. Get a 3/4 inch hose cap and clamp, cap it and not worry about the annoying rev that happens when you start the car when cold.
Or you can get crazy if you swear by mazda engineers and have a bung welded onto the greddy elbow. I do not reccomend this becuse it is not needed. Just plug the AWS pipe

I actually had a welder plumb in a nipple and replugged the AWS back in due largely to Max Cooper's experience.
He states that he DID have oil coming out of the vent and also "possible" stalling issues...

I've probably raced and modified cars before you even got your FD. Put it this way, I'm new to rotary...sometimes you got to ask questions to figure out the answer.

On a civic ( for example), you may be able to get away with a few screw-ups. On this car, it can cost you thousands with one switched line.
Silvercivic: My point was that you should be taking more time to learn the car before mucking with it. I know you just recently bought the car. Did you modify everything on your Civic the first 2 months you had it? Probably not. And these cars are 10x more complicated and easier to **** up.
I'm not busting your ***** just trying to save you some heartache/dollars, don't get so defensive.

The AWS is not needed for cold weather starting. It is responsible for that 3000rpm high idle when starting a cold engine. The purpose for this is to heat the cat up faster to reduce emissions.
If your ISC(idle speed control) system is working properly along with a properly adjusted FAST IDLE CAM then your cold start rpms should go about to 1500.
As I always advize newbs, get a copy of the Mazda Workshop manual. Section F is the most important as it covers all the engine control systems.
You are going to love the sequential turbo control system!
